My choices: Coffee (easily the undisputed champion) Cookie Dough Peanut Butter Cup (peanut butter chocolate is pretty comparable though) As for the best type of ice cream... GELATO!
As an Italian I am offended by the lack of stracciatella among the voting choices also missing the smurf flavor. (i'm joking XD) anyway i usually go for an Ice cream with 2-3 flavors of choccolate or a single big cone of super refreshing lemon
I feel you. Anyway, with the choices presented here, it's B and K, chocolate and coffee. I just refuse to give a third option because there are flavors that to me are superior to the ones presented here.
My go to flavor most of the times is Pistachio, next is Coffee or Mokka, I also like a chocolate, but that includes Brownie or a triple chocolate. To pick one of the chocolate versions presented doesn't represent it in a good way. Other flavor I like from time to time is Cookie Dough. Grrr, !mrahil
The list of options is admittedly limited. If some variant of Hazelnut and/or Nutella was included, it would have snuck its way into my top three.
Strawberry, Mint Chip, and Peanut Butter Cup, but there are other flavors - too many to really mention. Blueberry Cheesecake Chunk comes to mind. I don't like Pistachio or Coffee (never really developed a taste for coffee for some reason), but I would happily eat any of the others or any of a large number of flavors NOT on the list.
Note, if I was visiting a friends house and my friend said "we have _____ ice cream in the freezer, would you like some?" I would say "Yes, thank you!" for any of these flavors. If I was at an ice cream shop and about to pay my own money, then I suddenly become a lot more prejudiced. I would never use my own money to buy cotton candy, coffee or birthday cake. I only bought pistachio once. It wasn't bad, but in my experience, people who like pistachio REALLY like pistachio so they oversold it for me, so I was mildly disappointed. If I want ice cream, I want a sundae, root beer float or pie ala mode. Does this mean I like vanilla best? I certainly eat more vanilla in a typical year. I wouldn't want a scoop of vanilla by itself. Mint chocolate chip and cookie dough were my favorite flavors as a kid. And if I'm going to eat a scoop of ice cream, I still have a tendency to lean towards these two flavors.
I was curious about butter brickle and used the internet to find out it's NOT the same as butter pecan. Which I guess I suspected because they taste similar but off. Butter brickle is butter pecan with toffee pieces instead of pecans. My dad was fond of butter brickle, but I don't see it available in a lot of places. I like it too. It's not in my top three I think it squeezes into my top five.
Peanut butter cup, Chocolate peanut butter and Strawberry. The flavor combination of chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorites, sweets wise. Strawberry has always been a close second though.
