Everybody's a gangsta until someone drops the Silmarillion into a Tolkien/LOTR discussion! :D

That probably places you in the 1% of the 1% of the hardcore fanbase!

I disagree. I would guess this puts him in the top 10% of the LOTR fanbase. Just because you are an illiterate swine doesn't mean the rest of us are. That said, I only read the Silmarillion twice. I doubt I'll ever read it a third time. I have a giant pile of fantasy works I have yet to read on my to-do list.

From what I've heard, it's not particularly a fun read. Most people I know who are into LOTR have not actually read the Silmarillion.

It is my favorite of Tolkien's works. The difficulty is keeping track of the hundreds of characters. Most aren't too important but the ones that are will do things super early on and then again much later. It's easy to forget who is who. If you use some reading aids it's alot easier to keep track of.

That's not an opinion I've heard often (actually this is the first time). You're definitely a hardcore fan!

I don't think that is something I would (personally) enjoy, lol.

I enjoy watching Youtube videos of hardcore Tolkien fans talking about small aspects of the Silmarillion in ten minute videos. Complex lore delivered in digestible bite-sized chunks.

Also, every aspect of the Silmarillion has beautiful fan art and the videos utilize it.

I also like that very few of them talk about Rings of Power and the things the show does wrong. They just pretend it's not there.

I think washer or lug nut or other round part in a fuse box. I'm not sure, I'm not very handy. I have to hire someone to handle my power issues.
