These are just wonderful, absolutely wonderful! A great expansion to the Gitmob/ordinary Goblin subfaction in the Gloomspite army. I notice though that there's no infantry for these to replace the bog-standard Gobbo infantry (in the vein of the Snarlfang Riders replacing the old Wolf Riders), so they're intended purely to be an all-mounted subfaction... which does work, no doubt.

I'll definitely be picking up those Wolf Chariots for my Greenskinz to use in Fantasy, and I hope that lovely new Doom Diver isn't too expensive...

A really nice surprise all in all to make up for Empire being the yawn-worthy TOW release as predicted.

The new Hobgoblin is good too, nice to see them get their own character for use in the Dawi-Zharr army.

Those aren't new, they're the Empire General kit released in the 7th Edition era of Fantasy (the foot and horse characters) and the 2012 Imperial Griffon model.

I very much agree - High Elves were the other faction mentioned in what GW passed for a roadmap, so they'll no doubt be next, then Beastmen as an Evil force to divide the two Elf factions, then Wood Elves last (sorry mate... looks like we'll both still be waiting a while for the TOW goodies we seek).

Oops. I must have misread the article. I thought GW said this was a new plastic kit for ToW.

He bought the wrong size shoulderpads at the armorer, didn't he?

I get more Warcraft vibes than Warhammer.

Can't place why though. I mean, 40k certainly popularised the oversized shoulder pads look, so it can't be that. And get in a fantasy sense, this guy just makes me think of he is supposed to be a hero init in Warcraft.

Regardless... Swap the head for a sallet helm instead of that overdecorated rubbish, he doesn't look terrible.

I'll probably skip though. And not just because forgeworld resin.

In fairness, Warcraft did rip off warhammer/was originally supposed to be warhammer.

Anyways; I think it's the lionhead on his giant pauldron. That is just such a warcraft pauldron.

Yep Blizzard contacted GW asking if they would let them make some Warhammer-themed PC games. GW said 'on your bike' so Blizzard decided to make their own Warhammer (and later Warhammer 40,000)... resulting in WarCraft and later StarCraft.

    Might just be it.

True, but in the time since, Warcraft has built up it's own image. You put a Warcraft character next to a Warhammer character, you can tell the two apart.

    Well, usually.

Meh, I'd also say in some regards WarCraft is closer to 'generic' fantasy than Warhammer - certainly where humans are concerned, for example - a Bretonnian Knight or Imperial Halberdier is iconic as a clearly 'Warhammery' concept, while you'd need a seasoned Warcraft fan to tell you that a Footman, for example (infantryman in standard-fare knight armour in WarCraft III) is a specifically WarCraft unit.
