Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - April 2025

This thread is to get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

April Goals:

Prime and paint another 5 redcoat saurus
Finish painting my galleon
Paint a freeguild cavalier-marshall horse
Assemble another 12 horses for Empire cavalry, prime, and ideally paint
 
My April goals will be:

- paint the 2 Heroes and the Home town model of the Dungeon faction
- paint the 9 Uruk-hai warriors with pike, from last month
- paint 5 Saurus warriors

- paint an entry for the Feathered Serpent contest

- make progress on the Gondor board

- write a story for the soon to be Short Story contest

Paint 11 US rangers and support team
Assemble, prime and preshade Fidwogs (2 tractors, 17 minis)
Preshade MESBG orks
Prime and preshade unit of crisis suits
Prime, preshade and paint Ghostkeel
Assemble and base Stormsurge
Continue on Taunar

Edit: Some last minute changes. Instead of Fidwogs, I´ll be doing Coftyr and Crusader reinforcements.

First update of the month:

Day 10 Update

Finish painting my galleon - DONE! ...wait... She still needs a name ¬_¬ Can't call a nice ship like that done until she's been christened!*

* I am fully prepared to break a bottle against her as tradition dictates :-P

yup, for last two years I took germans to our annual D-Day public play.

This year, I would like to play allies and US are getting book soon, so I am slowly building them for last three months and when book is released I´ll just have to do couple of models to tweak out a list.

Interesting... i play US too, but in the last years our gaming group has abandoned bolt action, hopefully we'll return to it sooner or later.

So after quite the Cold Blooded hiatus, i'm resurrecting my Lizardmen from obscurity to bring them into The new (Old) World. This means rebasing my Lizardmen collection. May Sotek guide my (hobby) blade.

April Goals:
  1. Debase 100 skinks (50 javelins, 50 blowpipes)
  2. Rebase 100 skinks

That is quite a goal considering it is already half a month. Good luck and plenty of patience.

Any reason for a full rebasing instead of buying hollow bases you can put the old bases in? Saves a fair amount of time, assuming it's a simple resizing that you need to do.

Honestly, I just don't like the way they look and it gives me a chance to try out a different basing theme.

I like crunch time as a motivator. I managed to debase 50 skinks last night and have about 90 of the 100 assembled so worst case scenario i'll have all 100 assembled and debased by the time i go to bed tonight (AUS eastern standard time).
