Well, this is an interesting coincidence given that I've recently decided to repurpose all my marauders for a Skeggi themed force.

Hilarious in how unnecessary they are. I remember accidently getting a box of push fit Cadians. My flatmate of the time then had to endure me ranting for about half an hour about how Cadians did not need simplifying, and that push for Cadians remove the best thing about Cadians: their ability to be easily used in conversions (I was working on my C&C Nod infantry influenced troops at the time).

So yeah, hilarious in that "if I'm not laughing, I'll be ranting" coping mechanism sense.

Hmm... not quite. They look more Viking inspired (which, Norscan, that makes sense); whether they're more true to actual Vikings rather than the stereotype, I couldn't say, aside from the fact that these guys are actually dressed for cool weather and not going bare chested like clothing has gone out of fashion.

Conan the Barbarian styled minis are the AoS Darkoath range. Mind, I've seen plenty of comments stating intentions to mix the two ranges for more diversity of menacing barbarian menacers.

I'mma be honest... I completely forgot that was a thing that happened.

When I think of Conan, I, being a gentleman of culture, think of this version:

I understand it wasn't to everyone's taste, but as a fan of Robert E. Howard's original stories, I felt like the 2011 movie was closer to them in spirit than the 80's films, which I also like.

big fan of the books, and while Momoa's version is closer to Howard's work (from a narrative point of view), imo it lacks the epicness and the spirit it needed to stand on par with them (or at least close to).
Arnold's was a different beast, with very few common points to the original stories, but it was epic.

Although Arnold's Conan movie doesn't have as many direct story similarities to Howard's work, it "feels" more like Conan than the Momoa movie. It's hard to put a finger on it for me. It's probably just because I saw the movie before reading the Howard stories. It's been argued that the second Conan (or even Red Sonja?) was closer in tone to Howard's stories. I can see that.

Arnold conan wasn't bad, its just power metal conan vs Momoa's more gritty conan
