And then he wonders why short story engagement is minimal. It's all about engagement!!! Speaking of which, looking at my current post count, I'll likely be on 90k (18X Slann) hiatus when this contest rolls around. A cruel twist of fate . Not to worry, I shall read and cast a vote, but the impending hiatus will prevent my usual shitposting, reviews and promotion.

Entry submitted. Struggled wiht the theme a touch, might have come up with a good idea. Time shall tell.

I'm at proofing stage, so hopefully soon for me.

But yeah, I agree that it was a tricky theme. We'll see...

 

I got lucky, got an idea that absolutely sung to me as something that would be fun to write once I worked out how I could fit the theme.

 

Handling such power and greatness can be difficult for mere mortals. Praise Hashut, the Father of Darkness.

 

It wasn't the "power" that was the problem... it was finding a way to actually have fun with it. Just doing any old nonsense didn't strike me as fun. Whereas, to take the previous time I used the Chaos Dwarfs in a story as an example, I need to do something with that is fun for me if I'm going to implement them.

I want to enjoy the writing, which is my first and most important priority always. Winning is pleasing, but secondary to challenging myself and having fun doing so.
