Greetings, cold-bloods! I've been playing Warhammer since 5th (the most beautiful edition), during 6th-7th (my favourites for playing) and even 8th (meh). I'm a Spaniard expat in Switzerland. I always loved both the Lustria ambientation and the Lizardmen, but only recently bought them for my wife (yes, my wife paints). We started playing Bloodbowl as an introduction to the hobby and she insta-picked the Lizardmen (Gwaka'moli Crater Gators), so we jumped to WHFB... And now we have a pile of second-hand lizards from AoS that require rebase, repaint... and paint! We will use the schemas inspired in the 5th. I expect to switch armies often, so I'm here to learn, ask questions about the rules... and discuss about lore and painting! Also we recently joined a local community, the Karak Norn Wargaming Club here in Zürich, so we expect to play with the lizards as soon as they are ready. I'm helping the club to run a narrative campaign for 6th edition... IN LUSTRIA! Praised be Sotek, -- Zambula
Welcome along! Great to have an old timey Warhammer veteran joining the forum. This might not be the most popular opinion about the 8th edition around here but certainly a welcome one Love that you are doing the hobby together, I imagen a lot of hobby time around in your house. Is there a specific colourscheme from 5th edition that you are going for? Be sure to start a hobby thread in the Painting and Converting subforum to keep track of your progress, ask questions and collect praise over finished minis Happy narrativing in Lustria! Have fun in our jungle Grrr, !mrahil
oh, welcome (back) to the game and Lustria! a pity (for me) you live in zurich, which is a little too far away from our gaming group (we are 1 hour away from Locarno). A narrative campaign can really be a fun to play... any chance you plan to post a blog centered on it?
Thank you! I've been reading for some years but it was about time. Don't get me wrong: I loved playing 8th, the Storm of Magic and other crazy things, and the huge blocks of infantry are super cool. But I always felt 6th being more balanced, I fancy the art from 5th and 6th (5th feels more epic, 6th is just awesome), and I never had issues with cavalry being overpowered. Also the slot systems is crazy, paying a core tax and then having all the points in crazy units... epic. Several ones! the "all blue lizards" makes the army incredible boring IMO, I would rather mixing different "spawns", painting marks... I have a huge pile of second-hand lizards that require rebasing and a lot of work, I will surely document it and ask for advice! Surely we will! We are finishing a campaign pack, because we want to share it in the old fashion. I don't want to spoil the surprise yet! The blog was created not so long ago, the club is old (circa 2003 I think) but the older members are more analogic... anyway, we are digitalizing into the modern era, we will share news regarding Lustria in this forum!
Thank you! We plan to document the prologue with battle reports... and then to share a campaign pack to make it available so anywant can join! So you would have the chance to participate if you want. But I'm speaking too soon, and we are not ready yet. We will open a thread when the stars are in the right position! Thank you so much! You know guys, for a coldblood forum this feels like a warm welcome! hahaha
