I saved a picture (cant find it) of when the Thunderlizard was mentioned in either 5th or 6th edition (maybe?) Can anyone help me out? It was mentioned with the Carno and Coatl.

Thanks!

Thunder Lizard wasn't mentioned in 6th at all as far as I can tell, though I don't know about 5th. However I think you might be thinking of the 2004 Warhammer Chronicles book, where they have rules in a special "no Lizardmen" army, as do Carnosaurs, Stegadons, Coatl and Great Wyrms and some other dinosaurs.

I'm not sure what edition, but finally found it

Neat it has rules. I thought it only existed in the lore.

Yes, that's from the Warhammer Chronicles 2004 book special army "Lost Valley of the Carnosaurs".
Did some searching, here is what the cover looks like:

In my opinion, the Thunderlizard has always been described as if it were Godzilla, since all descriptions of its behavior are similar to Godzilla's. However, Thunderlizard is one of the names given to sauropods in North America. Therefore, I think the Thunderlizard is a sauropod with characteristics of Godzilla.

Can you elaborate on this?

What do you mean by "always been described as if it were Godzilla, since all descriptions of its behavior are similar to Godzilla's"

Like, as in, its huge and wanders around?

Here's a link to the description. Initially, they're described as bipedal.

Then, their lore describes a battle with a sea creature. A sauropod could hardly fight a sea creature. The closest equivalent is a fight between Kaiju, and the most well-known Kaiju are King Kong and Godzilla. That's why, in my opinion (and despite the fact that Thunderizard is technically a sauropod), I think it's a Godzilla or a sauropod-Godzilla hybrid.

I have somehow always missed the biped mention. Very interesting. Definitely changes my perspection a bit. Though I hate the idea of Godzilla, for some reason, and I honestly love Godzilla as a creature and franchise.

To your point about a Sauropod being able to hardly fight a sea creature, I strongly disagree with. Sauropods already fought huge monsters, and their tails could hit faster and harder than the speed of sound. Their weight also is a weapon, they can stomp on things (rearing up to come crashing down or simple stomps). Their necks are incredibly thick and heavy, neck slams are possible. A Sauropod, especially in the Warhammer universe where itd likely have fantastical changes (heavier armor, etc) I do believe a Sauropod would hold its own against much of what the Sea could throw at it.

Im now envisioning an earlier or psudosauropod that was both bipedal and a quadruped, able to walk either way depending on the circumstances.

Imagine a huge Yunnanosaurus but with fantastical changes to fit into the Warhammer world, and also much much bigger.

I could see that, or something like it.
