I LOVE Spy x Family

Of the shows I like that are still ongoing, all of them are anime.

My three favorite contemporary shows are

1) Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

2) Spy X Family

3) Apothecary Diaries


I usually prefer English dubs, but I've watched these three shows in sub and dub. I didn't realize it but the Japanese voice actress for Frieren and Anya is the same woman but you'd never know. That's lady has range!

I guess I like shows with complex character arcs, heartwarming moments, engaging world building, and a mix of tones

There's a lot of anime that is crap that I can't finish. Then there is a lot of anime that I find moderately entertaining but I don't need to revisit.

The three anime shows mentioned I can watch over and over again.

As I'm trying to make my own fictional universe, I must try to temper my "world builder's
disease" and not lose sight of the fact that without engaging characters, no one cares how intricate the world building is.

The anime is great, my parents like it too and i'm waiting for the moment when we will be able to watch it together (we saw the first 2 seasons)

This is a rare gem that I read both in the written and animated versions. The slow building of family and respect they have for each other, in the amusing was they each are, keeps me coming back. I won't even write an essay on how much I love that each character is written with respect for how they have been in life and how the events with the rest of the family help heal their wounds. Loid in the latest written episode acting without his usual planned behavior, no spoilers, made my day.
