Contest April-May 2026 Short Story Contest (Entries close May 13th)

I thought you might appreciate an AI image about an AI as a commentary on a no AI rule! :coolest:
An AI generated an image of an AI wearing a silly hat as a commentary on AI discrimination.

Sounds legit.

Silly?!?! :eek::eek::eek:

They are hats based on the uniform of the Ottoman Empire janissaries; which are indeed silly.

So silly that Vlad the Impaler was even gracious enough to help some representatives of the Ottoman Empire keep their hats firmly atop their heads when they told him that they weren't to remove them even while accepting his hospitality... by NAILING THEM TO THEIR HEADS!

Vlad was a pal like that.

I had a chaotic thought. In the absence of a Chaos Dwarf entry, I would automatically vote for story number 2, no matter what (announced in advance of course). That would mean @Scalenex would get to choose which entry gets the two auto-votes. Would he put his piece in a position of advantage? I'd wager not. However, upon further thought, I realized that this would leave me open to a perfect counter, whereby @Scalenex could have purposefully left slot two blank, thus levelling the field and wasting my vote. In recognition of this, voting based on the order of π, 3.14159 (i.e. vote for story 3 if possible, if not then story 1, if not then story 4... and so on) would be better.

However, I've since discarded the idea. The Chaos Dwarf rule is fair and honourable, with each writer having equal opportunity to harness its unsurpassed power. Afterall, what fun is a game in which the players have no agency.

In this one singular case there was an escape from Chaos. It did not mark us all. :wacky:

I'm sorry, why did you give me a photo of the Man-Emperor of Mankind at the exact moment he walked in on Slaanesh using Khorne's chain-axe as a... "toy"...? yes "toy" is a sufficiently censored word for what it was being used for.
You mean this?

Vald would die in the labor pits of the Dawi-Zharr just like all the other "lessers". A death in servitude to the industrial empire of the children of Hashut.

Considering the Warhammer version of Vlad? Yea... nope.

I don't even care for Warhammer Vlad of the von Carstein lineage... wait...

Ok, timeout for a genuine question moment. I know Vlad von Carstein is obviously named for Vlad... but isn't one I only call "Manly" Mannfred out of sarcastic irony the one that actually acts more like the historical Vlad the Impaler? If so, Manly Mannfred can go fornicate away and expire in those labour pits and I will urinate on his grave.

While formidable, they would have to face:
