Japan has closed schools, can confirm you are making the same mistake activists do when they try to make something seem worse than it is (not saying you are doing that, just that you are making the same mistake) which is comparing a widespread issue that shall affect a small portion of the population in any given area to the population count of a given area. effectively saying that 200,000 lives lost is no small thing (using a world case count) and comparing it to a single city in the US is not an actual comparative... yes it would be devastating if Providence Rhode island suddenly had zero people ( my capitol city has a population just under 200k) but not all the deaths are occurring in that location. this is similar to the baby doll vaccine meme. an anti vaccine group posted a picture of a doll with a needle in it for every single shot a baby in the US is expected to get by age 2. it looks scary. until you realize that if you took that same doll and put a pair of lipstick lips on it for every affectionate interaction it would receive in the same time line, or really any single item over any amount of time. TLDR, the comparative you used is disingenuous because it reduces the actual occurrence rates either by geography or time, and doesn't account for the actual comparative you should be using which is the world population. 7,700,000,000 total people 0,010,000,000 cases of corona virus 0,000,200,000 deaths at 98% survival rate 7,700,000,000 divided by 0,000,200,000 equals 0.0000259% of the population lost to corona. compare that to the black death which killed 75,000,000 of a world population (in 1350) of 300,000,000 or 25% of the world and you can see exactly how much of a non issue this is. hell the common flu has a 98% survival rate lol
the point still stands. even with the numbers given, its 98% survival rate makes it a non factor. especially as most of that rate is based on low health quality rural china
I’m not concerned about coronavirus, it’s pretty obvious the dipshit nurgle is trying to cause mass panic. Most of the effect will be economic as a lot of stuff will get delayed for some time. Overall most of us should be fine
Yeah, certainly compared to stuff like the Black Death and the Spanish Flu outbreak after WWI, Coronavirus is nothing. I’m still going to be careful (even in a country that is already being extremely careful with it), but there is a lot of doomsaying that exaggerates it far too much, as with most topics these days.
The problem is that COVID-19 is already likely endemic in the population, meaning we will all get it at some point. It will soon become "cold, flu, and COVID-19 season." Also keep in mind that another novel virus that went around, Spanish Flu (1918-20) infected about a third of the world population and killed more people than died in WW1. That's the level we're talking about here. Should people panic? No. Should you wash hands and keep hand sanitizer close by? Yes.
Now I have another reason to want new BT as soon as possible - it will stop coronavirus discussion. Because it is really depressing.
Anyway, taking bets on whether or not Dead Saurian will see ANY changes after the Battletome drops. I'm hoping he does get a few. More wounds mostly....
No reason he shouldn't have 20 wounds, 3+ save, 5+ feel no pain. It's a giant monster and should be a nightmare to take down. But it should have the points to match its power
420 is already pretty hefty for what he does. Slap on what you say and I wouldn't mind him staying as is....
And 30 pages of “Squeee!!!! 2 hours before our book is revealed!!1!11! What do YOU think is going to be in it???” is a TOTALLY worthwhile endeavor...
Honestly the dread saurian is only a step above a zombie dragon, and much more impractical. It should go up to atleast 20 wounds in the new battletome. Kinda wonder what else will change up
Speaking of the Dread Saurian...anyone able to actually fit him on the battlefield? His base is so damn big
I'm going to try after the Battletome hits. I got my base and proxy model, fiddling with them both. It is pretty big, but with how a lot of tables end up looking locally, it won't be that bad putting him down and getting him into combat.
For it to change with the new battletome, it has to be in the battletome. Unfortunately it's a forgeworld model therefore it won't see changes unless they edit forgeworld rules. I managed to deepstrike him once and then i couldn't move it elsewhere.
Good thing they do a pass over on Monstrous Arcanum things if their related tome comes out. Not well documented, because it's rarely ever a big change. This time around though, a big, unique model from a popular faction in a game with very few FW models (comparatively)? I could see them doing some tinkering, like I hope.
