D3 MW to enemy units within 1" of terrain is pretty awesome. Also, 20 wounds is a lot of potential garrison. More than enough to put your Slann Starmaster, Skinks Starpriest, & Saurus AB inside.
It sounds cool. Am honestly more hyped about its lore and just having it as a cool terrain piece on my gaming table then the actual rules Tho i do like the rules too
and you can garrison them with your Seraphon models, up to a total of 20 Wounds... meh.. i really hope he does more too
It also has a decent footprint to soak up choke points. I am interested to see its placement rules. If we can be close to the center we have a good shoot at dealing those d3 MW where we want them with a +2 to the roll.
So by garrison do then just mean sit models on it? Would a balewind slann sat on top get +2 to its save?
Must say, for zero points and a good mortal wound output, that’s pretty awesome. Let’s see what else it can do, as this in itself is pretty cool.
if a unit is within 6" it can be removed from the table and is counted as being inside the terain they get -1 to be hit and +1 to saves
When they showed a sneak peak at the mawpot it only showed the healing ability I think and not the casting bonus or the way it could be re filled. So there could be more to the pyrimid
@LizardWizard Why? Units close to it loosing d3 models doesn't seem very powerful... Perhaps some damaged characters with a single wound left will fear it. I don't see it as threatening. Of course I can't tell the impact of it with troops garrisoned, that's another story playtime will tell.
It is based off the Garrison rules from the core book. I am not certain how being Garrisoned will effect the BwV. Since the Garrison rule says to remove them from the table.
^^^^ This! One of my buddies plays trees and made an almost empty board into a clutter of trees that attacked me. Going to be nice to have them attack him instead! Also the Engine is FREE! (points wise at least )
It is free MW without a range limit. A lot of factions bring their own terrain which can be targeted. Also it makes an opponent think twice about putting his wizard on arcane terrain if we are just going to start pinging them with d3 MWs. Being able to garrison it is also amazing. Sure, it isn't very interactive or have massive debuffs like the Bone Tithe Nexus, but it is better than a lot of faction terrain currently out there.
Would you put your Slann in 18" to reliably get that d3 mw off? Otherwise it's only a 16.66 % Chance for ~2 mw... Dunno...
If it is garrisoned then enemy units can't move within 3' or it in the movement phase or end within 3" of it if they have fly.
