Ok, so those might actually be metal? Hmmm interesting for me then, as I have never painted a metal model so I'd like to try that.
Definitely an improvement, many parts now have better coverage of the paints and you cleaned up some of the spots where the paint didn't follow...
A nice looking army with the classic paint scheme, good job!
I think it can work with many sorts of colors. Just make sure to carefully build up the layers so you don't clog details.
