I agree. It makes a nice contrast and it is consistent, since that part is just regular skin IMO.
I think your models are OK. If you add a bit of stuff to your bases that will also improve their look without being much work. :)

Interesting. But aren't 30 Skinks a bit risky? If you only lose one in a group a lot of attacks is gone. That's why I would rather run two groups...
I guess I am just used to it. Never had problems with SVN. I admit its rules can be confusing sometimes though.
