Lord Kroak, damn he is fine! Allegiance: Seraphon Leaders Lord Kroak (540) - General Saurus Eternity Warden (140) - Artefact: Relic Blade Skink Starpriest (100) Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) - Seraphon Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) - Seraphon Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) - Seraphon Battleline Units Behemoths Bastiladon (300) Battalions Eternal Starhost (80) Total: 1460/1500 Slow as hell but hard to kill!
At 1500pts I'm able to add: Saurus eternity warden (Phoenix stone) The eternal star host (other 80pts) Camaleon skinks *5 Salamander*1 Balewind vortex
Wouldn't that kill the Seraphon allegiance, thus preventing him from using the Saurus Guards as Battleline? ...or maybe I don't understand allegiance correctly. Doesn't Seraphon allegiance mean that all my units have to be Seraphon?
No, the way it works is that because only a few armies have their own allegiance thwy changes it so that you can have the seraphon or whatever allegiance and still use the order artefacts and abilities.
I think you are mistaking here. You asked if you could still use the death Alliance ability, which you can since all of the models are from the death Alliance. In the seraphon case the gryph-hound isn't a seraphon unit, there for guards and knights can't be used as a battle line
I am still correct, but I did not post enough info. You can still so it, the Gryph-Hound simply wouldn't benefit from the allegiance, which is no big deal.
Here is a fun list i thought of with kroak. Lord Kroak (540) - General Engine of the Gods (240) Battleline 10 x Skinks (80) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (80) - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs 10 x Skinks (80) - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs Units 3 x Skink Handlers (40) 1 x Razordons (60) Behemoths Bastiladon (300) Bastiladon (300) Battalions Thunderquake Starhost (120) Scenery Balewind Vortex (100) Total: 1940/2000 Basically everything sits around kroak on his vortex and foucs fires at targets and delets them. Since kroak cant be charged you just have to deal with shooting threats, with your own shooting. Skink are there to presure objects and to stay out of combat as much as possible. Would probably get recked in objectve games but would be a fun sit and shoot army.
