AoS 1k Doubles list

Hey all! I'm a new player for Seraphon and have decided to enter a doubles tournament with a friend of mine. We each get to bring a 1k legal list. The problem is I have no idea which way to go with it. The only model I know currently is a skink priest, but have no problems spending some money to get where I need to be. I've been looking at the start collecting box for the carnosaur and maybe a bastilidon? I'm just not sure whats good in the meta.

The Start Collecting box is of great value, you can build a lot out of it. There is a tutorial on what you can do, here on the forums:

At 1k a popular choice is the Eternal Starhost, but you have a lot of choice in our army, something for every play style.

I saw that wonderful article and I was planning to get a start collecting box. Is the Carnosaur worth it's points at 1k?

Sure. The Oldblood is a bit expensive but I'd say he is still worth it. The Scar-Veteran as well. So maybe consider building him convertible between the two...

Here's a list for 1k that uses a Scarvet. Not the best list I guess just an example.

@jaggred according to the warscroll builder there are only 70 points left, not 80.

Also I am not sure a Shadowstrike with three Rippers is really worth it in a 1k game.
It depends a bit on the other player in the double. If he plays a nice melee army, the Shadowstrike might be worth it, but then I'd probably ditch the Bastiladon and play nine Rippers instead, focussing on the alpha strike while my partner covers me.
