AoS 500 points - monsters allowed

My lgs has an escalation league that starts out at 500 point with no restrictions on model type.

So far I have:

10 warriors with spears
5 knights with clubs
1 troglodon
1 carno with oldblood
1 bastiladon
1 astrolith bearer
1 scar-vet on cold one
1 oldblood on foot

I've orderen a slann and I'll be buying a box of skinks.

Any ideas on what to bring? I'm a complete noob ;-)
 
A Slann and 40 Skinks.
Tactics: Slann stays in the back while the Skinks attack.
Summon 10 more Skinks or a Priest/Starpriest in turn 1,
20 Skinks in turn two,
and 20 Skinks in turn 3.


Or maybe a Bastiladon, a Starpriest, 20 Skinks and Soulsnare Shackles (if endless spells are OK)
Tactics: Everyone stays back, the shackles are annoying for the enemy, and Basti shoots everyone.
 
Dread Saurian and a skink priest ;D

Take your pet for a walk into enemy lines and eat then on turn 1/2 ;D
Skink makes his jaws do double damage on 6s and makes him -1 to hit ;D

Oldblood or Sunblood with 40 Saurus Warriors could work as well.

Or a ScarVet on Cold One, 20 Knights and a Razordon.

It does sound like fun, but I haven't got the funds to buy all those new units right now :-)
 
One option for you could be this:

You surely have that Skink Oracle (the Troglodon rider) from the kit you built as Carnosaur.
Put him on a base and call him a Starpriest.

Then play this list for 480 points:
- Starpriest as General
- 2x10 Skinks or 20 Skinks
- Bastiladon

It is a decent list and you don't have to buy more stuff.

What do you increase too 1000? add the Slann then you can start summoning

Thank you! It does sound like a lot of fun - only thing is, that I've also built the troglodon, so I can't make the Starpriest. Would love to use my Bastiladon though!

Thank you! Who can cast the suffocating gravetide? Don't you need a wizard for that? Otherwise it's very doable list for me :-)

You can also convert one regular Skink if you want to. In the Skink box you bought there are 24 Skinks, and you can use only increments of ten.
So you could take one Skink, use a few spare bits to build him a fancy staff and head dress, and you're done. :)
