AoS 500 pts - Escalation League

First of all, I am a suuupernoob at AoS and am just now getting into playing it, I am going to be playing in an escalation league in about 6 weeks and I need some serious help with a lot of things.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes this on :)

I am going to need a 500pts list, no artilly and no behemoths, I don't know if there is a special battleplan or scenario being used yet.

I own:
2 Start collecting boxes
2 Skink boxes
1 Bastilodon
1 Skink Starpriest.

So far I have come up with this - Exactly 500 pts
1 Skink Starpriest - General, Nimble, Incandescent Rectrices or Prism of Amyntok
20 Skinks - Javelins / bucklers
20 Skinks - Javelins / bucklers
10 Saurus Knights - Lances

I have so many questions and there is so much hearsay online

For example, can Starpriests summon? I think not but I have read in a dozen places that they can, but I can't find it in Battletome or GHB.
 
When do Behemoths and Artlllery come in to the league?

Only Slann, Kroak and Engine of the Gods can summon, Slann/Kroak through stacking points and EotG through dice rolls.
 
Have no idea yet when they come in, but I assume you can have 1 at the next level (1000pts) but have not got that information yet.
 
And also, what is this about teleporting? Am I able to do that with my list? Or is it also just Slann?
 
All Seraphon lists can use LoSaT to teleport, it doesn't need a Slann to work.

As for the list: I think in most cases a unit of 40 Skinks is better than two of 20 so you might want to use that unless you are playing a battleplan that requires you to split your forces that much.
 
What is LoSaT?

I was thinking that too, one big blob is obviously better for killing something, but as I have no idea regarding battleplan and such I don't know yet.

It's about as good as you will get for 500 points, maybe up one skink unit to 30 and the other at 10 depends on what battleplan you get.
 
I am currently in an escalation league with similar restrictions, and just completed my first 500 point game (there's a battle report up). while it is very battle plan dependent I have found that you can sneak a whole battalion into 500

Shadowstrike 180
1x Starpriest 80
10x skink (boltspitter/shield) 60
10x Skink (boltspitter/shield) 60
3x terradons 120

granted this is very low wound count, but the mission I had made this beneficial. additionally its a 1 drop so I got to go first and annihilate a key target with the dons bomb drop before it had a chance to do anything.

I realize you don't have the terraons yet.

additionally you could try a Firelance, although I don't recall how much it cost at a min under the new points, but as long as its 130 or less you are fine. again less wounds, little bit fragile, but glass canon from hell that can rotate charges and the Scarvet can put up some serious numbers if it gets a second or third attack.

that sucks. would have been a great low point army build
