A Girl's Purple Lizzies

Wow, this is beautiful work - sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread/blog. It will be one of my regular stops from now on!

Thank you, once again, for the nice words guys :)

all hail the fat frog! nice to see it in another colour! curious though, any reason you didnt make it purple or pink like the rest of your army? just curious haha. was half expecting that LOL

Well, my thought was that purple is basic troops (units that come from spawning pools). You know, Skinks, Sauruses and Kroxes. And all the other Lizzies Will be painted differently. But I understand your curiosity :P

I've waited longer than necessary with this Update, while I hoped my boyfriend would finish dwarf-beard-guide. Well, he didn't!

The last couple of weeks/days have been spend on movement trays, and actually my two skirmish trays are completely done. Funny how much such movement trays do... Anyways, pictures:

My curent project is a unit of skinks for my kroxigors. Pictures first:

So far the GS on the movement tray is done. The bases still need a jungleflower (or 2?), a tree on the unitfiller to the left (seen from behind) and an alter on the big unitfiller. There's going to be some kind of offering to the Old Ones - probably a Skaven. The Skink Chieftain (metal), with the heart raised into the air in his fist, will stand behind the alter. Think it's going to look awesome!

Right now I'm removing mold lines on the Skink bodies. 10 down, 7 to go (and 34 arms, sigh). Giving you an update again when the unit is ready for some basecoat! ;)

Great job, :smug:

and your new Skrox unit looks very inspireing.

That's going to rock - great work! It's decision time for me in choosing a color scheme for my Krox. I was thinking of a complimentary color to my skinks instead of the same coloration. If you can offer some advice, please do have a look at my plog! Thanks.

Nice work on the movement trays and again your work all around is fantastic. Damn, I wish I knew how to sculpt

those movement trays really do add a lot. they look amazing, well done.

Giving this thread a small bump :muted::shamefullyembarrased::artist:. AMAZING work, beautifully painted lizardmen, and some inspiring bases. I love the saurus literally running out of the spawning pool and grabbing their weapons. And that skink base. Lots of great inspiration here.

Good call. There is definitely a whole heap of beautiful work on this thread!

What's a large bump? This thread had been dormant for 5 years, lol.

And yes, her artistry is amazing. Would make a great Tyranid theme as well.

Point taken. My unintentional sarcasm aside, I agree it would also make a great tyrannid theme. Amazing work!

Hey there again guys

I know it's been a loooong time since my last post, but I've had quite a break from the hobby. But recently my lizzies caught my attention again, and now I have boosted my army to 1000 points. I guess I'm just going to show my different projects to you - and I will of course explain my thoughts about the different units :p

First thing I'm going to show you, is actually my favourite unit - my Spawning pool. 18 saurus warriors raising from the water. My original plan looked like this:

Pictures of the result without the movement tray:

I wanted to create a feeling of "Hey, we are going to war", and I think the spear bucket and especially the skink handing out shields creates this.

The finally result came to look like this:

I've made spots of water on the stairs - it would be a little ninja if they came up from a spawning pool without being soaking wet :p

My next project where my chameleon skinks - I don't like GW's models very much so I chose to convert my own with some filing and green stuffing.

They ended up looking like this:

The most important thing to me with this unit was to make them VERY chameleon - natural colors and no gold at all, to show they are kind of loners living on their own in the jungle.

I have also finished a Salamander hunting pack. My thoughts apout this was to make it freaking fiery! So I have made a lava effect between the scales, and I tried to make the crest look like flames. What do you think....?

Besides that I have also painted another Skink Priest. Nothing special about that one

And closing of you get a picture of how my army looks so far:

I'm from Denmark, so I know the spelling isn't the greatest. :D

Feel free to comment and give some constructive critiscism! :)

Well done ! The spawning pool is EXTRAORDINARY !!

I have to agree! lovely color scheme and awesome conversions!

She got a kid :) I knew her when she was still painting and talked a bit to her after. Lost contact tho :)

Her boyfriend was also a VERY good painter and painted some of the best looking Highelves I have seen in a long time :)

The thread tho i think is dead. She wont be returning any time soon with new models :( She hasnt posted anything for ages on our Danish forum either. :(

Wow. Inspiring stuff. Thanks for bumping it @Warden. I would probably have never seen it otherwise.

Same thanks from me!
A really inspiring thread.
