A Girl's Purple Lizzies

I like the idea of the watery steps as the Saurus exits the pool.

But your whole idea of leaving wet footprints is kindof defeated by the fact that the Saurus themself are not wet at all? :) Maybe add some gloss to them aswell?

Made me smile, as a noted your little drawing with the "plan" for the pool. I'm danish myself btw.

Other than that, really good job! im considering making some diorama theme Saurus myself at some point, and the pool idea.

May i suggest a walk to the beach and pick up small rocks and pebbles to make for even better features on your bases?

Well, I know they are not as wet as they should be looking at it realisticly.... But I thought it would be way to much, and therefore I chose not to gloss the entire body of the models. It's only their legs I've made "wet", which I know is pretty hard to see on the photos.. :)

About the bases: I see what you mean, and I totally agree. If I could change the bases, there's more than one thing I would do differently. But I'm not going to do more or change things about them. It's my first army, so thank God, I'm still learning ALOT about this hobby! :D

Thank you for the constructive critiscism! :)

And now, the Stegadon with the Skink Crew!

Looking good, and thank you for the close up pictures, how do paint the jades in the icon poles at the back of the howdah?

Im guessing a mix of Dark Angels green, White and black... topped with Gloss varnish? Or...? Please share.

Well, black undercoat --> Dark Angels Green --> Snot Green --> Scorpion Green --> Green Ink --> Re-highlight Scorpion Green --> reverse highlight (a very tiny stripe of white in the opposite corner to make the illusion of light hitting the gem).

It's pretty hard to explain how the highlights are placed without making a drawing, but hope you can see it on the pictures and the guide was understandable. :)

That Steg is all types of awesome - well done! It sure doesn't look like your first army!

Now on to a new project.....

My first Terradon Rider! And since I hate GW's big grinning models I have decided to convert some my self.. A long time ago I ordered 5 of these guys from Copplestone Castings:

And one of them now looks like this:

And the Skink Rider:

Well, there's still a long way to go. Alot of gapfilling and so. But I think it's pretty good so far! :)

Those Terradons are looking awesome! I love the WIP pictures. Great work and keep it up!

Absolutely stunning Stegadon. I don't see anything to change about it, your paintbrush-fu is very powerful! Looking forward to seeing how the Terradons turn out, they are off to a great start, I really like that base model. Much more like an actual Pterodactyl then GW's.

Ye, I really hate GWs model! Thanks for the nice word guys! :)

Here's how the base turned out! Greenstuff is done....

The Terradon still needs a little greenstuffing, but are soon to be done! Pictures of the final result will come one of the days ;)

Awesome stegadon, I love the use of purple and green. And the red steg is solid. Nice work.

Very nice posing. It's dynamic and looks like it is leaping into the air. I also really like the way you put the skink on there. Great work!

Great looking colors on the steg and the base work on him is very nice as well. Your painting overall is excellent! I also really like the work you've done on the terradon. Your green stuff work is superb. Keep up the good work.

I love me some purple lizards. Also, I'm extremely jealous of your greenstuff abilities. I struggle with fire and hair.

Love the leaf saddle, very elegant and fitting for the lizzies. Much more so then your standard leather type saddles.
