Hi everyone, I did not know where this type of thread would fit in so I decided to post it as an idea.

My idea was to create a thread filled with cool, fun or good looking shots that anyone have taken amidst the chaos of a battle.

I always try to remember to get a shot of what my general sees before turn one commences. I have a few that I have taken in battles past that I will put here to see if anyone enjoys them. I will also try to clean up the shots going forward if people enjoy these kinds of things: I.e. remove the dice and tape measures and things like that. Let me know if you think its a good idea.

This is a shot of what my chaos sorcerer lord General saw from atop his palanquin while marching on a high elf occupied village. Unfortunately he was too impatient to wait for his troll reinforcements to make their way around his right flank and he brazenly attempted to take on an entire high elf force to no avail.

Here is my slaans view of the skaven army looking to ransack an overgrown temple rumored to have a very powerful artifact buried beneath its stone.

Below is the view of the high elves coming through the bazaar to also try and claim the temple.

Last is an overview of all armies advancing through their paths and converging on the temple.

I have a fair few.

First a quantity of shots taken in a Storm of Magic battle between Dwarfs and Greenskins from aeons ago.

Here’s my Dwarf Thane and the last of his Hammerer bodyguard watching a dirty great Giant lumbering towards them:

The Night Goblin Shaman turning himself into a Troll after teleporting himself and the Fulcrum he was standing on to the back of the battlefield in the previous turn:


A Longbeard Old Guard and Savage Orc Boss duking it out in a challenge that lasts for several turns, neither champion being able to kill the other:

Last game pre-covid with my table, gaming mat and terrain.



Giant cowers behind a house to avoid tiny, little Skinkies... bit like a human afraid of a mouse!



Skink Priest with Cloak of Feathers darts into position to handle a menacing spider-rider unit, two mangler squigs and other units nearby. Successfully Kroak bombed and damaged all units, killing one of the Mangler Squigs and most of the Spider riders (you can see the dead ones on the left).



Lord Kroak leads his Unbreakable Temple Guard into combat with the enemy general and Black Orc unit, supported by an Ancient Stegadon who got a successful charge off and they ended up killing the entire unit.



It's always the one you didn't get! The goblin tarpit kills a Skink unit and overruns into the side of a Stegadon. Gor-Rok charges in with his Saurus to protect the beast, but then the Mangler Squig crashed through the combat.

These are magnificent, what a giant floating stone!

If I will have a battle in the future I will try to remember to take an extra action shot.
(or stage one without any battle happening )

Yeah, I made an effort to gradually get all components together to be able to have a full set-up. I'd been dreaming about it since I read my first White Dwarf and saw the amazing staged battle shots that they do.

I like the Sisters of Thorn/Cold one Riders stand-off. In my mind, there is Western-style movie music playing and a tumbleweed rolling between them... The camera cuts to the eyes, back and forth...
