That looks really cool, I have not seen that game before, what does sbg stand for? I knew there is a lord of the rings version of warhammer but I've never really looked in to it. Is it recommendable?

SBG stands for 'Strategy Battle Game'.
I like it a lot! I am a nerd for all the books and movies. And of course so do the models from Games Workshop.

The models are quite 'mono pose' in a way that most of them are fully cast on the sprue. Opposed to AoS and 40K where every limb can be adjusted.

The Rule book is as big as the rules book of AoS but there is no lore section, only rules:eek:
Game wise it is 'everybody for themselves' there are no units and all models can move independently.

In combat you duel (roll off) to see who can make attacks. Attacks are made like the WHFB system: Strengh vs Defence table.

Thanks! I splurged after Christmas and got a folding gaming table and mat. I imagine we're going to ignore the smaller board recommendations for AoS 3e, if we even switch at all.

It was quite interesting, lol! :)

I ended up barely winning in turn 5. I rolled absolute crap most of the game. Missed most attacks on the Dread Saurians, and had one go down without even being able to finish off a block of 30 Bloodletters. However, the other one was able to kill a Khorgorath and force the other two in the unit to run in battleshock with Roar of Ruin, and magic and the Stegadon shooting knocked out Skarbrand after my Troglodon sacrified himself to hold him off for a turn. The Khorne player summoned in a Bloodthirster in turn 3 and killed my Slann and Starseer and got way ahead on objective points, but I finally got lucky and made a 9" charge roll with my Stegadon to take the backline objective that was being held by a Chaos Warshrine, and my remaining Dread was able to take back the middle objective and tank the Bloodthirster for the remaining 2 rounds.

I wasn't playing a competitive list, obviously. I would have been much better off taking just one Dread and getting more Stegadons and some Saurus Guard for my Slann, but it was still a very intense game!
