I'm actually one such person, I was about to buy a whole Dwarf army but I put it on hold until the 5th of July. Funnily enough, this was on the recommendation of one of the most respected staff members at my GW, I asked him if I should wait and he instantly said "absolutely."
they have pulled the trays from the stores and the rumors of round bases scare me I don't want round bases. then again if its only lizards that get round bases that would be cool and make sense.
I bought some Bretonnian character models last month, is that punishable by sacrifice? >_> Also, on the topic of whether the uncertainty & rumors change habits, it's really cut down on my motivation to paint. When the departure notices went up on the GW site, I bought one (or two...) last things, but that is The End until AoS drops. My confidence is no longer sufficient to invest any more money in this hobby until I know whether I'll be an 8E-for-life-er or a New-Age-er.
I know GW leaves staff in the dark as well......................but this is probably the scariest remark about 9th I have read so far.
I was in my local gw today and was having a chat with one of the staff. He was saying gvhow they know pretty much jack s*** on what's going on but when I spoke about the Lizardmen he said there's no chance they will get the chop or be decimated. Yeah it's not an answer backed up with evidence but I felt very content after it. He did say since y'all buggered off to space you will be a 40k army lol
Sounds good to me... but the ultimate decision on sacrifices has to fall to our revered mage lord @n810 . If he does not awaken from his contemplations, then it will fall to the Skink priests, in our case we have only one @Arli Mazdamundi conversion sounds awesome!!! I'm a second such person. I haven't bought anything from GW since the rumours broke with the exception of about 4-5 paints. Kudos on the guy for being honest instead of just trying to make a sleazy sale. Bretonnia has a place in the plan of the old ones. That's okay . But Skaven are our mortal enemies. I can't picture them being totally axed. They will be usable in one form or another... I just wonder what that form will be.
not really, I gave up due to my home PC is mostly broken. (5 minutes between blue screens of death) it rolled badly on the miscast chart. Going to try a complete Windows re-install... again.
That would be the biggest surprise ever. I absolutely can not see that happening. I wouldn't mind though, at least we would get support (however ugly... looking at you soul grinder and skullcannon). As it stands, it is unlikely that Lizardmen will be receiving any more model support.
Dislike This (or something like it) happened to me right after Christmas; with two machines. Happy New Year.
That's horrible... can't believe you had two machines fail simultaneously. It leaves a person with such a feeling of helplessness unless you're an expert techie (which I am not). Definitely not a nice way to start off the year.
Here, have some more rumors: http://natfka.blogspot.com/2015/06/age-of-sigmar-completely-new-system.html What this batch of rumors (this hour) agrees on (right this second) is that Age of Sigmar will support all existing miniatures. (One commenter says, "Finally. I can sleep.") What they don't agree on is whether AoS is Warhammer 9th, or some completely new thing. My (utterly speculative, based entirely on distilled rumor, neat, with a slice of lime, shaken, not stirred) two cents at this point: AoS will be a completely new thing, but it will define the parameters (fluff, book quantity, factions) for the next several years of GW Fantasy products, and if we ever get a product that fills the roll of "Warhammer 9th," it would just be a rulebook for larger scale-battles with maybe a few pages of fluff. Or not. I hate speculating.
So much confusion in the rumour mill. But if AoS is not 9th edition then I wonder why they took down all the army books from the store shelves (since 8th would still be the current edition and should sit alongside of AoS as a separate game).
Off the top of my head, I could only speculate (sigh) that GW wants all of us (old, new, not-yet-involved, alike) to play AoS together, and maybe see if it's successful, before releasing more stuff. Get us all on the same page, as it were... ...that's all I got. Otherwise, you are right, it'd just be 9th Edition.
That's a sound theory. In that case, GW would be best off minimizing 8th edition as much as possible; which would account for the removal of the army books. Of course it will ultimately come down to how good AoS is. I'd be happy if 8th and AoS could co-exist together. I'm not yet ready to see 8th go... especially with all the crazy rumours swirling about.
