We already have the IP name for the new LM if they are in 9th...Descendants of the Old Ones. If that is not enough, they will change it to Descendanticus Old Onesius.
Chaos Dwarfs were mentioned a few times, but mostly in the books that came with the End Times. Kinslayer mentions a massive army of Chaos Dwarfs assaulting Praag while Throgg's troll army is in there and Book V: Lord of the End Times mentions multiple times that Grimgor after he became the Incarnate of Beasts and joined the Ogre Kingdoms to his army sacked and crush Zarr Naggrund and the remaining chaos dwarf holds in the dark lands.
The burning question in my mind about Lizardmen post End Times is (if they are featured), how they will react to the other races that are Non-Chaos. Will they see them as survivors from the "old world" and work alongside the wayward races to further the fight against Chaos?, or will they see the survivors as "tainted" forms of life and attempt to eradicate them to cleanse the "new world" from further Chaos influences?
Re: novels. If it didn't happen in the big books, it didn't happen. (a little Settra bitterness there)
http://natfka.blogspot.no/2015/06/age-of-sigmar-new-starter-and-more.html this link was posted on da warpath. It says round bases will happen and if you want something important - you should buy it now - starting with saturday, some products will vanish.
That could mean a lot of things. For instance - round bases for all? A requirement? Maybe just a skirmish game or as some have been claiming on warseer that we'll be seeing a second game. Products going out of product could again mean different things - for instance there's not a lot of need for all the various elf spearmen. They could be trimming the fat. Likely scenario? WHF is switching to a game with round bases - we can still use our current models on their current bases - and all the current models will be removed.
I'm pretty certain that anything that is finecast now will likely be on the list of models to go. Finecast hasn't been popular and doesn't sell well.
I got super giddy when I read that, lol. "Vampire Counts" and "Tomb Kings" used to be one army called "Undead" Now I'm all hopeful and stuff.
You saw the Throne of Skulls faction names? Defenders of the empire The Dark Gods Ravening hordes Legions of Undead Last of the Ancient
indeed. Btw just had a chat with a friend of mine and he is in contact with a guy who has a gamestore in Istanbul and who is now about to open a second shop here in Ankara. This shopowner has gotten some confirmation from GW earlier this week that not too much will change and that it is indeed a skirmish game what all the rumours are about. Anyway, the total lack of information from GW and them not managing the rumors (or not managing in a sensible way imho) has annoyed me quite a bit.
You need to elaborate just a bit. Will WHF change into skirmish or are we looking at a second game/mini version of regular warhammer with skirmish rules?
I wish i could elaborate. I dont really know what that shopkeeper said exactly. But I understood from my friend (his english is not perfect, and my turkish is horrible) that this age of sigmar could be a skirmish game and that the actual warhammer game will not change that much. ---Edit---- Other rumours/sources actually go against this story. And i must say i am getting really annoyed with all these rumours and GW not providing any information at all (ok, i only had three hours of sleep tonight, so today i get annoyed quite easily, but GW this is no way of doing business).
Clear reference to lizardmen. "Can what is dead ever truly die?" sounds like an implicit undead/ nagash reference to me as well as sigmar himself. Will be skirmish. explains lizardmen (and only lizardmen) on round bases at warhammer world. If this standalone is skirmish i think that implies 9th will remain square base. Interestingly they've been told to remove the movement trays this weekend suggesting new movement trays... possibly the fabled dual square/round accommodating trays.
Been down the workshop and the new manager has been teasing us with a large tube with what seems to be a poster. I've been asking questions as he was up HQ a multiple times. He wouldn't say much, only that no armies will be dropped, no stock for miniatures will be taken off shelf. Not sure about the whole name change thing, the guy did not say anything about a name change but he was zipped for most of the conversation.
I was trying to get information out of the main Fantasy staff member at my local GW, and while he adamantly refused to tell me anything and admitted that he had only been told very little, he said that there will be an announcement to do with it this Saturday. So maybe we'll learn more in the next few days. On a side note, I am just very giddy over the fact that the Lizards are the first ones to get a mention in that blurb, Chaos notwithstanding, it implies potentially big things for us. Yesssssss.
The good thing about hearing these things from you guys is that I consider you more reliable than the random rumour mongers on warseer
It's common practice in my GW to take rumours with a grain of salt. We duscussed the possibilities of the rumours, but ultimately agreed that nothing is concrete yet. Hell, the only reason I adamantly believe in the Age of Sigmar is because I saw the fliers in an unattended box being unpacked at the GW.
