Wait! I had an idea! How about you use a little green stuff to add little dribbles of beer, so it looks like he is out REALLY cold :D

Ok, here are some pics of my latest work, the full Human Blood Bowl team.
No bases yet. I plan to base them together with some other stuff but that will take a while.

I painted a Branchwraith for my wife's Sylvaneth army.

This was the first time I used contrast colors.
The result got a bit too dark but then I just drybrushed with a light brown and it looked better.

I still think the miniature looks a tad dark when it is on the table, but I am relatively happy with the result.
Like most Sylvaneth it is quick and easy to paint.

I also primed the Arch Revenant and a Kurnoth Hunter, and I painted Arkhan's ghosts and cloak.

Finally the temperatures went down today, so I could paint again.

Haha, yeah, they either didn't read it, didn't care, or forgot. :D

Fun fact: I am a mod myself now, so I could move the thread... maybe later. :D

Nice blood bowl team I'm not familiar with the game but they look nice. I've seen lots of teams about when I'm model searching :).

Yep, we discussed it in the news thread.
I will most likely buy it. Not yet though.

Hi Aginor, do you think the back contrast paint would maybe work for Saurus shields? having that black/grey slate-like effect come out properly?

Curious as I've been thinking of give it a go, but I've not invested in the paint yet.

Yes, I think that could work. The contrast black will make pretty dark crevices, almost like Abaddon Black, while the raised areas will look a bit like Eshin Grey or so. If you thin it a bit you can make a few more greys with it. And should you decide that you need a tint of some color (like green or purple) then you can use either a shade of that color, or use a heavily thinned down contrast color as glaze.
In a pinch you can just drybrush over it with some lighter grey.

I just noticed that I forgot to make a post on my hobby anniversary (two weeks ago).
I was a bit busy with other stuff so I haven't painted much (except in the last few days).

I play almost every week though, and I enjoy this a lot. This forum has a big part in that. Thank y'all for that!

Progress pics of Arkhan, rider almost finished, mount needs some shade and a few details.

    Thank you!
That's the first model where I really took time for the edge highlighting. Perhaps the lines are a tad thick and the color isn't 100% what I want either, but close enough I guess. The goal is to fit into the style of my Morghasts.

Edit: Holy Moly it has been over a year since I painted those!

Oh, and here is the recipe for this style in case I forget it again:
    - primed white (yes that sucks for dark colors)
    - base coat armor with Alien Purple (Army Painter), 5-6 thin layers
    - shade completely with Dark Tone (Army Painter)
    - recess shade with Dark Tone
    - edge highlight with Wolf Grey (Army Painter)
    - shade with Purple tone (Army Painter) to tie the grey and purple together

    - metal parts are Weapon Bronze (Army Painter), shaded with Soft Tone (Army Painter) or not at all if they should be shiny. Can be highlighted with silver or bright gold.

    - paint bone parts with Skeleton bone (Army Painter)
    - shade bone with Soft Tone (Army Painter)

    - base coat claws and horns Necromancer Cloak (Army Painter)
    - drybrush them with Uniform Grey (Army Painter)

    Skin and sword sheath:
    - base coat white
    - shade with Reikland Flesh shade (Citadel)
    - paint stitches Necromancer Cloak or some brown

    - teeth are just Brainmatter Beige (Army Painter) or white, shaded with soft tone.

    Ghost parts are
    - white base coat
    - shaded Green Tone (Army Painter)
    - drybrushed with white
    - glazed with Waywatcher Green (Citadel)
    - drybrushed with white again, this time lightly

    - glowing green parts are Moot Green (Citadel)
    - OSL glazed with Waywatcher Green OR drybrushed on using Moot Green
    - if gem: apply gloss varnish
