any news on your Krox being available for sale yet Think? those Cavalcade minis I ordered should be arriving this week sometime (hopefully) so I'll have some pics up as soon as they arrive.
For anyone looking for alternate stegadons, Primevil designs just released a rather realistic 28mm Tricerotops in plastic, http://www.achesoncreations.com/ind...category_id=57&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 and it's only $18.00 (USD)
Still hopeful for a February release. Working out the details and bidding between a couple manufacturers...whomever offers the best deal to me will be releasing them. I will announce as soon as I have it finalized. Thanks
got those Draconids in the mail yesterday. A shot of the Shaman next to a Skink Priest. Towers over him really, don't think i'll be able to use him as a Priest alt. Got him on a 25mm base, and he's falling over the edges. and for the hell of it, compared to a Saurus warrior as well. (watch out, Genestealers are sneaking up on you!) The War Party and Heavy Warrior were more of comparable size, Heavy Warrior is on the small side though, so maybe a better Saurus Champion or Scar-Vet. He's the same height as the Shaman above. Here's a shot of them together, War party (L), Krox (C) and Heavy Warrior (R) Everything came in it's own little blister which was cool, except for the War Party, which all 3 minis were packed into a double size blister. It was pretty cramped in there, with some very obvious side effects. The war party spears, all 3 of them extremely not straight. And you can see how cramped it was in the blister by looking at the lizard's legs/feet, all squashed up into their body. What I did like about them though was the rock base/stand, which isn't attached so you don't have to use if you won't want to. Overall a bit disappointed with the War Party, pretty happy with the Heavy Warrior and Shaman though, even though I probably won't be able to use them in a game. Just got to put them all together.
He does look very cramped on that 25mm base... Overall, base size is much more important than aesthetics as long as your opponent knows exactly what the model represents, and I think it is clear with the priest so probably could be used. It doesn't really fit such a weedy weak character all that well since it even towers over a saurus though. I'd be perfectly fine if my opponent pulled it out. Best use for it might be as some kind of character on terradon conversion. That allows the model to have more bulk, puts it on a bigger base, and since the terradon and character essentially get a combined profile (can't be killed seperately) you could use it as that but with the fluff of a larger creature rather than a rider and mount.
True I guess, depends on the opponent and if some purist GW employee is watching. I'd really like to get the Shaman on the battlefield though so will try and proxy him in for the Priest. Good idea, I haven't got any Terradons at the moment though and I'm hopeless at conversions, but something to keep in mind for the future thanks! Should check if that heavy warrioir will fit onto a 25mm base too as a Scar-Vet proxy.
I think this would make a killer kroxigor alternative or unit filler. I think I have t order one ^^ http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=mae_blg_bnl_cha_024_000
It looks like Banebeasts model next month will be lizard-like as well from the sneak peak I've seen so keep an eye out! They produce some amazing models; I have several of them and the cast quality is really high. Pieces fit together very nicely and I've not come across bent or miscast pieces yet.
