Alternative Dread Saurian

I'd pay the £150 for a dread saurian, but when they add on £20 for shipping it takes the biscuit a little bit.

I'm going to warhammer world the week after next so maybe I'll pull the trigger! Kind of sitting on that money for one of the new releases coming up though... Elvey elves!

i really like the dread but 150 pounds is like 200 usd including shipping and thats a bit much for just one model....

A model that I will have to promptly carve up and convert so that I will enjoy it. Risky business working with resin. Could be 200 dollars down the drain

They had one in the display area and one in the shop, the one in the shop is terrible, bad fitting joints, but you may see something else to spend your cash on!

Probably... I am going to carry on resisting for now, I'm not letting myself buy anything else until the current lot is finished anyway.

Lol, we all say that "I'm finishing these Lizards then I'm done for a bit" that was me on Monday, on Wednesday a SC Sylaneth box, 1 box of hunters, 1 box of tree revenants and a box of dryads turned up, yep I'm really done for now, oh a box of blightkings and a lord of plagues as well!

Don't tempt me!

We exchange on our new house today, so I sense a lot of packing and moving in my future... Going to delay painting a lot I think :(

Oh god the stress! you will need to get a beer and airbrush in hand to chill ;)

Seriously, stress levels through the roof the past couple of days signing stuff - and worse - handing over our hard saved cash!!! I'm hoping that's the end of it. Working next week then got myself a week off - so planning on at least a couple of days of painting before I pack everything away. If I can get the warriors all finished that'd be a massive load off.

Definitely, 100%... Not. Buying. Anything. Else. Before. I. Finish. These.

Phew... Dwarves not up for pre-order yet!

Haha I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I have sylvaneth start collecting box and I found an amazing deal on the Christmas box with the 3 treemen kits and 40 dryads. Lots of trees in my future.

Nice... I sense brown in your future!

I was super tempted by Sylvaneth when I was picking which army to go with first - the turn off was the lack of variety in their units - small brown tree, middlesized brown tree, big brown tree... Even when you throw in doing different seasons and things with them, they're still all trees!

Apart from that big one riding a bug. She's pretty rad.

You should do an army of wintery Christmas trees. :p
(Christmas village trees with Googly eyes glued on)

This Acrocanthosaurus could be alright as well, decent size(11" L x 6" H (28 x 15.5 cm)) but smaller than the Baryonyx. I dont really like the upright pose on the Baryonyx but i think that could probably be fixed with a little heat and bending.

I totally didnt just spend 30 minutes at work looking at dinosaur toys....

I like this one a lot too... pretty awesome model!

Anybody remember this other also awesome model? I figure it should be posted here, even thought it is not technically a Dread Saurian instead more of a stand-in for SOTEK HIMSELF (take that Nagash)

My Sotek model was just an action figure I had laying around for far too long. It's from McFarlane's Conan series and is called Red Dragon. I thought he made a fantastic looking Sotek, he even came with a base (although I put it on a real base as well for uniformity sake). I went to a game at my local store recently, kind of funny how many people thought it was an actual Lizardmen model (although I don't believe any of them were big Warhammer buffs). I guess he must fit in pretty well!

The use of this model was awesome in this army. One can dream

A few years on from when this started who has made conversions with newer models that have been released, edit* doh i googled this :p
