hoho, i just had an idea. if a mixed unit has the unit type "unique" would the same apply to a unit that is joined by a mounted character? could we make our poor sauruses immune to stomps by adding a mounted scar veteran to the unit?
lol But no, he keeps his different profile to the rest of the unit, which I think may even mean he can be targeted individually, despite being in the unit. Don't quote me on that though.
but why though? is there a rule that says a unit with both infantry and cavalry models are not "mixed units"? there may very well be, but i dont know where.
I don't have a page number in front of me but somewhere in the special characters section it says that they don't confer any of their rules onto the unit unless specifically stated under that special rule. I also think that under the special characters and mounts section it says that infantry blocks still count as infantry even if a mounted character is in with them. If someone with access to the book can check on that awesome. If not I will check when I get home from work and try and post some page numbers.
The Only Mixed Units in Warhammer so far are, Skinks/Kroxigor Giant rats/Rat Ogres Packmasters/Giant Rats that is all.
Skaven infantry units containing a screaming bell or plague furnace are classed as "unique" rather than "mixed" so are also immune to stomp.
