I'll be organizing it tomorrow. I think we'll just do eight this time unless we have a lot of new arrivals.
Ahhh, sorry, midterms started at school so I've been a little distracted. Here are the Round 1 brackets! Calyxtos Dakynthos of Brionne vs. Yzon Jean Marcel of l'Anguille vs. Kraan The Exalted Quetz-ik-kil vs. Krusher MaceMaw Ix vs. Anaxirem Blightheart Make some bets/do a little trashtalk and I should hopefully have the results up by Friday, but no promises, as this next week's going to be pretty busy for me. You know me too well.
First round is a Dwarf pick for me. Should be a chivalrous fight and looking forward to it! Just ehh... no hittin' below the belt, M'Lord! - Lord Cedric
I've been waiting ages for another of these to happen. Can't believe I missed this thread somehow. Ah well... BETS! Yzon to crush the Bretonian, with merely his BO (beard odor) Jean Marcel's horse to win. Krusher to stomp the lizard. Last one will be close, but I'd say Ix-y by a snout.
Kraan rides a demonic steed into the arena, so its a horse vs a huge demonic beast. Still, I can't count the number of times I've seen horses outperform their knights, so anything is possible.
This! It is a running joke with a local Bret player, his horses almost always out perform his knights.
Must be the superior breeding.. and they eat a a nutritional breakfast of medieval Wheaties! The true whole-grain energy source! - Lord Cedric
I call Yzon over Calyxtos. Dwarves are just tough SOBs. Kraan over Jean Marcel. Again, WOC are tough like Dwarves. Krusher over Quetz ik kil because The Ogre is my character. Anaxirem over lx because the DE will probably strike first and get re-rolls for everything.
I find it interesting that many people think that the Brets will lose. No, not saying that we *will* win, but on many other forums the Bret Lords are very underrated. Not that I don't mind being an underdog, but the Brets have access to some of the more non-nerfed utilities and equip choices imo and can be a very hard target to thwart. We might not have the number of attacks, but I can almost guarantee that if equipped right (HKB for starters or forcing all opponent hits and wounds and saves to reroll) will make each one count. Perhaps it's because not many players in recent editions play or have played Brets. I remember reading on the Round Table of Bretonnia that a Bret player walked into a local game store to play Warhammer Fantasy and found an opponent. Took out his Bret army and organized it on the table. His opponent was bewildered and thought that the Brets was a non-GW army as he had never heard nor seen one. lol. Anyways. Best of luck to all the participants!! May the best HUMAN *good* KNIGHT win! - Lord Cedric
Did I mention that I dislike the killing blow/heroic killing blow Bret lord? Just sayin'... My Tyrant cannot stomp him either!
