AoS Second Edition

Perhaps you might be tempted to start now? ;)
The game being referred to was setting one against the other, not AoS. AoS was just the fuel for it.

One day we will succesfully drag him in :p
.
You don't honestly believe that, do you? ;)
No you won't.
You are wise mighty @Crowsfoot

I wouldn't call stating facts "ambitious" :p

That is a very cavalier use of the word "fact". This is doubly true given that you have no direct control over my acceptance or rejection of AoS. My point on your ambition stands.

Nah, it's simple logic. Given enough time possible will eventually happen. It is possible for you to play AoS. As a slann you're essentially immortal hence time is not an issue. As such at some point you will succumb and play AoS with us.

This obviously has nothing to do with ambition. Q.E.D. :p

anyways back on topic before you were summoned from the dark place you usually reside in. Has anyone done a tournament, or just a few friendly games, with the rules like that to see how viable it is to make a general purpose army with our stuff and how much the various realms influence us?

By that logic there is an even greater chance that I eradicate AoS. Or that you will quit AoS and join me in WFB.

You will find that my will is not so weak.

nah, cuz those two are physically impossible :p

The first maybe, but the second, no. Games Workshop may have dared to cut off Warhammer’s supply of air, but there will always be those, such as @NIGHTBRINGER and myself, who will ensure the game lives (even if Warriors of Chaos break the game every time they are used).

I think that on AS3 or AS4 Games Workflop will, using its hundreds of combined years of game design and experience, will introduce the new innovative and exciting concept of unit trays and regiments who fight in orderly ranks.

“...A bold new concept which will forever enhance your fantastic battles in the Fourth Age of Sigmar... ”

:shifty:
I can bask in the glow of the future glowing advert copy from here.

 The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades.

I doubt it, there's too many units that come in <10 models for whom it'd be utterly pointless and for the big horde units it has its uses to be able to change the formation at will.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they came up with some variant of flanking for AoS to get some sort of order back into the blobs.

Slowly ramping up the complexity, step by step, I would like it.

As would I! Warhammer Fantasy: The Next Generation, if you will.

Not me. Let AoS be AoS and WFB be WFB. Last thing I want to see is a bastardized amalgamation of the two. Besides, the whole point of AoS was to make a simpler game that is easier for new players to get into. That is its strength.

True. Warhammer 40K 8th Edition is a b@st@rdisation of AoS and the previous editions of 40K and I just can’t get along with it (6th Edition was best, when everything was simpler), although truth be told part of it is due to the horrid new lore and the cheap repetition of the previous Codex art.

That's a shame. It would be better to have two unique options for players to choose from.

the cheap repetition of the previous Codex art.
They have been doing that for years. When 8th Edition WFB came out, they colorized and included many of the old artwork from the previous army books.

Agreed. Indeed they should have released AoS as a Skirmish version of Fantasy and Kill Team should have been the only version of what is the 8th Edition rules set as a Skirmish version of 40K.

I know, but that isn’t so bad in my view. What they’re doing in 8th Edition 40K is reusing the Codex cover art from 6th-7th Edition books for 8th, with only the font, text colour and the introduction of a border being the only differences. Observe:

For example, 6th Edition Tyranid Codex (I have this one):

And 8th Edition Codex (I’m NOT getting this one):

Almost exactly the same! Don’t you think this looks bad? I’m not having two books with more or less the same covers!

Of course Space Marines are the only exception - being GW’s faves they get the artist in specially to give the boys in power armour a new cover, but any new cover art for the other more awesome races? Oh no!

That is pretty sad... even by GW's standards.

Not GW... they wouldn't play favourites. At least AoS is free from such disparity.
