Contest April-May 2021 Short Story Contest Entry Thread, (Entries close on May 3rd))

When the other entrants become available to read is when the concern and self doubt set in for me.... Being self-critical is easy when you have comparisons.

Well no, someone else beat him by a few days with a rough draft he or she wanted me to look over this very contest.

On past contests there might have been someone who was faster. @thedarkfourth very frequently provides a story entry within the first week of the contest. He's not the only early bird, but he is the most prolific across multiple contests.

Indeed, we have two entries. Neither of them are from TD4.

But in any event, two entries in the first week is a good thing. Usually we get only one entry in the first week. Sometimes, this stretches past the second week forcing me to break out this song. But we have two, and two is enough for a contest.
 
I usually brainstorm and write a story during the last week, and i think that'll happen again since i have other stuffs to do.



Just found this lil' beat. It conjures up so many story ideas i'd like to realize if I get the opportunity to write
 
After 2 weeks of nothingness, this morning while i was shaving an idea struck me.
The core was good, but the story was developing in a unconvincing way.
During breakfast I discarded the first "plot structure", and while i was driving toward my workplace, i managed how to convey that idea in a different and better way.

So yeah, now i have to run against the clock...
