8th Ed. Awesome Luck With Skinks

This isn't a battle report per say, just a retelling of something awesome that happened in a game against Orcs on Saturday. It was turn 4 and the mission was Blood and Glory (the one with breaking points). I had already killed his BSB and a banner, so he was already down a little. I charged his unit of about 15 Black Orc Immortalz with Grimgor with my Skrox unit. Expecting to lose horribly, I was astonished when I beat him by 1, he failed his leadership test, and I beat his flee roll by 1! Now, while I do realize that it was luck, how many other people can truthfully say "I ran down Grimgor and his Immortalz with Skinks!"?

That's awesome. Grimgor is really a tough opponent to beat. It's amazing that you beat his unit in close combat. Great job.

The win that comes to mind for me was a lone Razordon (with one handler left) that ran down a Brettonian general with some knights of some kind.

that must have put a dent in that players pride xD, and I think he'll be quite jumpy about skinks next time.
my opponents are very jumpy of my Saurus Warriors, after 4 of them bashed their way through 10 Black Guards, 20 spearmen and 2 Lords, while all they had was the un-enhanced Flesh to Stone.
I know those moments, when all odds are against you, and Skinks run down Immortalz, Saurus Destroy 2 regiments and 2 lords, and even at one time, 2 elf-archers killing Kroq-gar in Close combat by their own.
those events just make the game so much more humorous.

I had a game that was objective based versus a Bretonnian player where my Terradon rider saved my butt. He had his Bretonnian character (characters only could hold the item that was the objective) making a beeline for his table edge which would have won him the game; and out of desperation to at least slow him down, I threw my last remaining Terradon rider from a unit of 3 at the character.

His guy wiffed on all attacks while my Rider managed to land the last wound needed to take him out. The heavily armored night promptly failed his armor save and I won the game. Ever since that incredibly lucky event, I've brought along Terradon Riders with me, to the point that at the GW store I go to, people know me to and always expect me to bring Terradons.

That certainly made my day when that happened!

this reminds me of the time when my 20 saurus warriors ran down practically a whole dark elf army there were about 5-10 warriors a supreme sorceress a dreadlord on a dragon and a reaper left ah good times good times
