No I don't mind at all, these forums are for sharing and gaining ideas! I agree with you, the original head do look too goofy. @The rest of the lot: thanks a lot! Now show us your bastiladons ;D
I will post this here as its about the bastiladon. Is it feesable to make it so it can be used as both the solar engine and ark. Im guessing the skinks hanging of the side are the same for both builds and the rails they hold. but is the rest separate? My idea is to have the rails and side skinks glued on and to have the top bits with skinks attached magnatised so can swap then out.
The two bars on the top of the bastiladon have two fixed skinks hanging on them. The ark or solar engine both have two skinks attached and are placed atop those two bars. I built mine so that the ark and engine are not glued to the top bars and can be removed and reset. Does not seem to be an issue. If you have problems with the small pegs on the bottom of the skinks lining up, just trip them and they will settle nicely on the back of the bastiliadon.
thats looking really good! did you use an airbrush? also is it posible to paint the skin without attaching the top carapace?
Great Job! I love the Steg head but I kinda like the normal goofy head so I think I'll run that. I'm amazingly jealous of you guys who have gotten the models and assembled and painted them already. I need to get off my ass but I'm still reading over the new book!
>>ok cool. what happens to the snakes are they glued inside the pipes ? so they don't touch the shell I haven't got that far, yet. I was planning on putting some small rare earth magnets inside the pipes then attaching the snakes to magnets and putting them in as necessary. They seem much too delicate to permanently glue them and expect to swap out the ark for the solar engine.
I like the look of the Sotek's Arch module without the dodgy snakes/spaghetti. And one day I'll buy the model and have an informed opinion.
