8th Ed. Battle standard bearer question

If a BSB is made to move to the back of the unit by refusing a challenge, do you lose the use of the BSB? Or does he die as in fleeing? It doesnt clearly state anywhere and could be pretty vital!

In 8th edition he still functions as normal, regardless of what rank he is in. He will still die if the unit flees however.
