Blog Beardy Gekko's random assortment of things

I'm thinking of changing the haft of his spear back to black, what do people think? I don't think the model needs brown.

Black is always a good choice.

PS. is that skink trying to get out of handler duty ?

When I saw the skink, I thought he was trying to stab himself in the foot! o.0 (really nice contrasting colour scheme between the crest and the main body there). That and the idea of gryphhound riding samurai is pretty cool :D

Staabi futii has a certain ring to it...

These models are some of the most dynamic I've made in a while!

Going to be a lot of skin to paint though and i'm not the most confident with it. Practice is always good eh?

Gotta say, I still believe that the Dark Eldar sculpts are amongst the best ranges ever done by GW (aside from the Lizardmen of course :P ) although, be warned; one of my warhammer buddies collects dark eldar and I recall him having trouble transporting them because of all the spikes! (especially if they get caught on foam trays!)

Magnets and stick them in a metal box, sorted

Just been working on this Crimson Fists sergeant when I was bored of building Dark Eldar, I think i'm fairly happy with the base colours but as he was already base coated as an Ultramarine i'm struggling a little bit with it. C&C appreciated!

Looks pretty awesome! The blue armour with the crimson fist really looks good in my opinion.

Mark VI actually! The original marines were corvus pattern mark VI standard tactical marines are mark VII mostly these days.

Mark II was great crusade era.
Oh yes, now that I look at it the helmet and shoulder pads are Mk VI, but the backpack and legs must be some other armor, because there weren't´t knee pads in Mk VI

I think he's more of a special case haha, here's the back of the box and the original plastic sprue marines for reference. 20170506_093422.jpg astro49marines-02.jpg

So instead of working on anything for the painting challenge like a good boy, i've been following my recent obsession with the crimson fists and started work on a marine commander, i'd say he's 90% complete with some things (including shoulder pads!) i'd like to make a bit more shiny.

C&C appreciated as always!
