another idea for the blade of realities which could look cool would be to play up the double edge/side on the blade and paint accordingly, ie. some sort of light/darkness thing or opposite different sides of the same coin inspired converting or painting?

would be very difficult to make this work on an area as small as a sword blade though... now that i think about it its a very impractical idea altogether :D

I think I know what you mean... Kind of like from one side of the blade, you might see into space, and from the other side it's a door into the centre of the earth...

    That kind of idea?

So this is what I have decided upon for the blade of realities. I wanted to make it look as if it were swirling between aeroplanes (of existence).

Haha sorry it was close to midnight and I had to do that thing where you go to bed and close your eyes for a number of hours.

I cut up a mini base into two sword width pieced, glued one but to the hilt and used woodland scenics water effects (the thick type) to create the reality warp.
I watered down snot green and Kantor blue and ran it over the crevaces. I also added some of that dark blue wash (midnight something or nightshade something) into the deeper crevaces. I might still do another wash, but I have to wait till the water effects have dried our completely. And that takes a few days.

What are your thoughts on it?

i like it :smug: id probably put a watery wash over the more milky part near the hilt but i think it looks great, that whole model came out looking really well :smug: now onto your next project ;)

    Thanks friend!
I'm hoping that the milky area remains a bit milky, i kind of like it.
There are some other pictures from different angles in my painting log(in my sig).

I've also given it a few layers of pva to make it glossy, and to hopefully stiffen it up a bit.

Also, not moving to next project yet, still got some more work to do on him. But I've got some in-progress projects going at the moment. Namely terrain building for the lustria campaign i'm going to start with my mate, Mazdamundi is still not finished, got to build my chamo skinks from normal ones, gotta repaint some saurus w/hand weapons and finish painting my saurus w/spears. So plenty to keep me busy. I'll be posting all those endevours in my log :D
