The new Lizardmen team for blood bowl has been revealed. Our prayers to the Old Ones have finally Been answered...

AND IT’S ABOUT TIME!

The models are great! I love the skinks and the chubby Slann statue. They’re adorable:p. But the thing I’m most excited about are the Saurus. They look just like the the ones from Total Warhammer. If my interpretation of the ancient plaques is correct, this could mean that we are getting an update soon! Finally we shall be recognized as the TRUE warriors of the heavens!

Fingers crossed, although why called Lizardmen and not Seraphon?
 
Ah, Blood Bowl; Where the combat prowess of a Saurus rivals that of a Chaos Warrior or a Black Orc. I hope they can regain some of their old glory when we eventually get a new book.

This new team will probably be in stores just in time for the new season of my local league, so the timing is perfect. Will definitively pick it up =)

I hope they'll give us a new Kroxigor to go with the team, and a booster pack with extra Skinks would also be nice. Six is not going to be enough with the mortality rate of those little buggers!

I have a theory about the AoS names. Names like “Orruk” of “Aelf”, could just be a result of thousands of years of civilizations pronouncing and spelling them in different ways, sort of like how in Greek mythology they said Heracles, but then they called him Hercules in Roman mythology. This doesn’t really work for the Seraphon because it sounds completely different from “Lizardmen” and it also happens to be the name of a furry tickle fetish artist*:vomit:. Here’s why I think they are called Seraphon: I think this was their original name in the world-that-was, but no no one else knew that because of the language barrier, so everyone else decided to just call them Lizardmen. Then Malekith fought them, discovered some of their plaques, and managed to translate enough to find out their real name. Malekith was impressed because they were such a strong and worthy opponent, so he decided to name his dragon after them*. When they arrive in AoS after their perilous journey through space(and writers that somehow forgot the most awesome faction ever) they are able to communicate with the other races and tell them their real name.
*can anyone confirm whether Malekith’s dragon came before or after the furry Seraphon. It’s been bugging me ever since I found out about that.
 
I have to say, the new blood bowl team sculpts are a little odd.

The saurus look pretty decent, a big improvement over the normal saurus warriors. The skinks, they look very odd, not sure what was the idea with their design. They appear to deviate from all the previous skink models on offer, I'm not massively impressed.

This could all change though, the painting isn't eavy metal, so could be taking away from the sculpts. It's also nice to see the model in person and hold it, Its amazing how just being able to freely look at a miniature allows for opinions to change.

I think I'll definitely buy them, it's been a long time coming.

Malekiths Dragon is older than AoS, so it was there first.

Talking about first: That's what Lizardmen called themselves IIRC. "The First".
"Lizardmen" was a name the humans gave them.

Might be. I don't care that much about Blood Bowl lore since it is a bit too absurd for me.
The game itself is fun though.
 
so many body guards im going to get a few of these maby three sets if the krox is just as good.

I don't think we're actually getting a Krox as part of the team? They would've included it in the preview if so...

but then who would be our big guy? all teams need a big guy that would kill this team if you couldn't run a Krox. maby if they buffed the hell out of the other two units but that would meen we only have two options for players tieing us at the bottom with hobbits and ogars for least amount of options. i hope they just haven't gotten to him yet.
