8th Ed. Carnosaur troop type ?

I'm sry if it is a repost but i want to know if a carnosaur is a monster or a monstrous cavalry ? There is nothing in the FAQ and in the book there is no large target rule under him, but stegadon have large target. So to me, carnosaur are monstrous cavalry ?! But a lot of people say that its a monster ?

In the BRB the Carnie is listed as a Monster so its a monster and all that fun stuff thats associated with it. Ie thunderstomp.
