Add another to the list - I need some extra motivation to get painting. My Lizardmen are pretty well completed, but I just started Orcs & Goblins, so expect something green from me. Are Warmachines considered single models? I have a Doom Diver in the mail that I want to paint soon.
does a Doomdiver have a single base? never seen one before.... if it does though, yes, it's a single mini. (in my books anyway) 49.
Count me in aswell On topic of game-specific entries I think you should make the split in size of model rather than WFB/40K As in 20/25mm/cavalry bases in one group and 40x40+/monstrous/Stegaragnarokspinxadon-type models in another. Since larger models tend to look more impressive on their own even unpainted, that would be more fair imo Hasse SJ
Hrm..I am extremely tempted to participate in this (for real this time, lol!) now that I have the drive to paint and the time.
Yea I was wondering the same because I made a model and just primed it black with no actual paint on it. Is that ok? Because I don't have a picture of it before Primer. BTW mines a Converted Scar Vet on a 25mm base in case you needed to know
Primer is fine with me - SeBM ultimately has the call on that one though since he's officiating. He's a nice sort of chap though so you'll be OK I'd say My Trygon/Mawlocs seem to be mired in backorder, so I doubt I'll get them delivered for the challenge. Time to make up a Plan B, then run with it. 49.
Count me in, but I have yet to decide on the character. I believe it may be an Orc character, just to give me a switch up from all these damned scales.
Ok, to answer a couple of questions: - No doom diver, it's a warmachine. - I would tend to keep monstrous mounts (for example an Old Blood on Carnosaur) for another challenge... A lone skink priest wouldn't stand a chance against a Carnosaur lord would it? I'm open to allow them, but I think it's not fair for those without the budget to purchase and paint one. I would suggest we limit this to characters without monstrous mounts, but I want the participants to voice their opinion on this. - A primed miniature is fine with me... I've had half my army primed for quite a while and I haven't painted more then 20 models... Once you have painted your character, send me a PM and I'll give you my e-mail so you can send me pictures and the name of the model (if any). Once we approach the deadline, I'll open a new post with anonymous pictures of each model. Once the contest ends, I'll open up a poll so everyone can vote. DO NOT POST PICTURES OF THE FINISHED MODEL HERE OR ON YOUR PAINTING LOG. You want to keep them secret until the end of the contest. Part of the fun is trying to figure out who painted what. If you guys have any questions, fire away!!!
Entrants list update : 20! Moi Walgis Juhaaha Thunda Parrot Scizith n810 1968yearofmetall dictator T'hinker'er Arli Deathfrisbee2000 Javster Kaax Taat Viarca Infyra Eladimir Stelios MI_Tiger Rokanos HashBash and our contest organiser SeBM. 49.
Don't forget to add me to that list I won't give away what im planning to paint (haven't really decided yet ) But does the organizer (SeBM) need to know what im painting beforehand? Aswell as pics that prooves it is unpainted? Also, are we alowed to paint pre-converted miniatures, or must all such work be set in progress after April 22? Hasse SJ
Just to clarify something here, I won't be participating in this one, since I'm not working on a character at the moment and I'd really like to finish my unit of Saurus Warriors... So unless you guys don't mind me MAYBE entering with a regimental champion, I don't think I'll be participating . As for the pictures, take a picture before you start of the primed/unprimed miniature. When you are done and you send me the piictures, I'll check it and only post the finished results.
You don't have a unit champ/standard bearer or anything like that you can do Stelios? Thought I'd pull out all the characters from the boxed sets to see what I can paint, I have to say that someone on GW has done an excellent job on the new Skaven and HE guys - they make the Dwarves and Goblins look like preschool models. On the downside I really doubt I'll be able to do the Mage or Warlord any justice in three weeks. Thinking about doing the Goblin Big Boss or Shaman. 49.
