I have another 15 knights to convert and paint - but to hell with doing it yet ;D

This doesn't sound like the Guardian of Paints to me. So you do have limitations.

We all have limits but Saurus Cav are a royal pain

I don't know why, but Saurus Cavalry and Saurus Guard are probably my least favourite Seraphon units to paint.
Maybe it is because they have a rather big amount of details, or the way they are shaped. Compared to regular Saurus Warriors or Skinks they feel like painting every single one of them is three or four times the work.

I didn't mind the guards and I just did a quick job on the warriors, I will get them done if it kills me.

I managed all the gold base and shade last night, miles to go yet but they will get finished, tabletop is all I'm going or I might end up burning something with a blow torch.
