Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

When you have as many models as I do, rank and file is the only way to go. They just look SO GOOD all arrayed on the table like that!

Beautiful painted Imperial models, and a glorious horde of Knights Panther! Thought they were Bretonnians at first, then I saw the LIGHTNING!

Amazing stuff :artist::cool:

Thank you kind sir!

Yeah, I haven't bit off Bretonnians yet, but I'm painting one up for a commission right now, and it certainly has had me drooling over a Bret army a tad!

Too bad AoS doesn't have an "official" Bret army.......*sigh* people should just return to 8th!

I am nearly finished with this Tomb King model (other than the base) that I've done for a commission. I hope you like!

Yeah, that's a piece of what Lord-Marcus made. I thought it worked quite well! Do you think that it needs anything....extra? I've been debating as to if it needs color. White-washed is certainly easier.

You mean like real ancient Egyptian monuments? That could definitely add some flair... but would not want to do too much... just a hue of color and the very raised parts showing the color of the sandstone... maybe a thinn glaze/wash of color and then drybrushing with the original color... so it looks like being sanded by millennia of desert storms...

I was actually thinking of real colors like red blue green etc but actually a light sepia or earth shade wash would definitely help... maybe together with some drybrushing to achieve the sanding effects... another idea I have would be to rub off the wash from the raised areas with a paper towel before it's completely dry... but that's completely experimental ...

Thanks, guys! I was needing another perspective. The wash sounds good. Maybe some light highlighting and staining.

If GW returned to 8th with updated Beastmen, Bretonnia and Skaven books and Fyreslayers and Kharadron introduced into the game, I would be awed and amazed (although now that AoS is getting better and Night Goblins are getting a tome soon I'm content for the most part).

I wonder if people would have a changed view of AoS if Sigmarines' popularity suddenly bombed through an abnormality in time, and a GW employee suddenly had a big idea - Bring Back Bretonnia with superpowered knights!

Warhammer: Age of the Lady - This needs to be a thing! Who's with me on this? :joyful:

Let me know what you think about the basing.

Love those Tomb King models - makes me want to have started an army, but with commitments to all my other armies I just haven't the time! ;)

Here's another model that I worked on for this commission. (The client wanted the lance to be broken off that way, btw. He said it has something to do with her breaking it off in a Chaos Lord or something.) Sorry for the quick pics.

It's Joan of Bretonnia!

What are we going to do?

I know! Duck her in the pond! She's been communicating with the Lady of the Lake, so she's obviously a witch! ;)

No thanks... SCE would be leading the charge in that scenario. The best part of WFB is that it is 100% free of SCE.

Much to learn you still have.

Looking forward to the updated pictures!

Okay. I've made some more progress on my Stegadon. All these pieces and parts are now glued in place. I've just got the crew and a few accessories left to go. Unfortunately, I've hit a snag and apparently left a pot of paint that I need to complete those pieces, open after the last time I used it (quite some time ago). So, I had to place a new order and will have to put those on hold until I get my order (I'm also excited about it because Settra will be coming with the paint!)

Anyway, here's the current state of my Stegadon:

Stunning job. I love the work you did painting the ornamentations and tiles. I think you might be one level of highlights too low. The Howdah and iconography are remarkable, but the skin, scales, and horns could use one shade bright or highlight imo.
