Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

And it's already begun! My wife and I get up every 3 hours to feed them. I take two and she takes two. She has to pump right after that too! So all total, that gives us about one hour of sleep in between feedings...if they're all asleep.

Zombie life starts here!

Whoo-hoo! I got my three Kroxigor in! I love these guys!

After thinking about it over and over and doing much internet research, I think I've finally decided on a color scheme for my guys. I don't know if I'll be able to achieve it or not, but I thought it looked really cool and would show up really well on the table top.

Things in nature that are brightly colored tend to be rather lethal as well. I wanted these guys to show up as a real threat. There was also a ton of muted colors on Krox already out there, so I decided to stay away from the Crocodile colors. This way too, they'll really pop in a unit of Skink Cohorts. I plan on painting the weapon and cuffs muted colors for some contrast.

Holy sh*t if you can pull that off they will look fantastic the Krox scale pattern actually lend themself to that paint scheme.

One of the reasons I love Lizardmen no colour is out!

Keep us posted

that snake is gorgeous gonna make some fine woogasaurs with that color scheme

also that shirt in your profile pic you've earned that title

Thanks, guys! I'm gonna try! Might take a little while though. My son has surgery to repair a hernia Monday. :( We're kinda swamped at the moment.

Best to have these op's now when they don't remember, he will be fighting fit in weeks.

went through that myself aint fun but he'll be fine and making you pull your hair out in no time

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate the words of encouragement! Any surgery (which requires anesthesia) on a preemie is considered very dangerous.

@n810: That's about right! Now if we could only add a little drool, it'd be picture perfect! :D

Well, the kids were actually really good and sleeping when I got home yesterday, so I had a little time to get a bit o' work done on my first Kroxigor! Remember, he's still a WIP, so keep that in mind, but let me know what you think so far! Do you see any areas or have any ideas that might need improvement? I think I'm going to try to add a bit more purple to the mix. Right now, he's a little too Mauve (Salmon?).

Not Bad,
I wasn't sure if you could pull it off,
but I think you basically nailed it. :artist:

I think just some brighter highlights on the yellow... :shifty:

Thanks! Yeah, the yellow is kinda frustrating. I used Baylor Brown as my base yellow, then a wash of Casandora Yellow, then a layer of Averland Sunset, then a final highlight of Dorn Yellow (Edge paint - lightest yellow I can find). I might need to do a 50/50 mix of Dorn Yellow and White Scar.

I'm probably going to dot the tips of the "spiky" scales with a drop of Druchii Violet.

If you managed to get some florescent yellow to mix with your current light color, it would be a great match... ;)

The Woogitoxigor looks great, you nailed the purple/pink parts! I think the reason the yellow looks so muted is that you jumped from Averland Sunset (which is already quite brown) straight to Dorn Yellow (which is very very pale). I think it would look more striking if you started with Yriel Yellow, then wash with Cassandora Yellow and highlight with Flash Gitz and Dorn Yellow. I had similar troubles with my yellow Skinks, you can check my blog to see some different variations that I tried. Anyway, it still looks very striking! Oh, and something to make the spikes look a bit different from scales would probably make it look even better.

Hmmm...that's a good idea on the scales! Maybe I could go with a blue highlight instead of purple? It might offer a bit of distinction without going too far from the purple, and it could be a good tie-in to the rest of the army? What you you guys think about that?

sounds good also it looks like it could use something to make the scales shiny-ish

Indeed a gloss coat would be great for the last step.
