Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

Great looking stuff! And you have been able to get a lot of painting done (although it's a bit all over the place... Dark Elves, Wood Elves, some... other miniatures...).

Very nice and I love the Manticore, is that the kickstarter model?
I got it from Raging Heroes. I don't know if it was part of a Kickstarter. I am supposed to be getting a Treewoman from the Creature Caster campaign. Hopefully soon since it's been over a year now...

Thanks! It's not quite as much as I'd like to have gotten done, and some nights I just had to veg out in front of the TV, but I am trying to push forward with this army. I really do hit a lot of various armies. I like to change it up and keep things fresh. I find that I usually see something differently after I've been away from it for a little while and come back. I also don't get bored with it that way.

Yeah I'm the same nearly finished my Seraphon army then got chaos, DE and gobbos to do, but mixing it up really helps with the motivation, nearly finished 5 camo skinks and BSB which looks amazing!

Yeah, I agree, changing things is refreshing. My armies are the Lizardmen, Daemons and Necrons. Lately I have mostly been building stuff to get the two latter armies to the point levels where I can actually play some games with my friends. I guess I'm more surprised how much you got done in such a short time. It's more than I get done, I don't have any kids!

Well, so far, I'd have to say Wood Elves are my favorite Elf race. I dunno, something about them... I do like me some Drow though.

Lol, well, HE were the second army that I collected. I really like them, but they can be a bit too powerful, IMO. I'd probably like and use them more if they weren't.

Well, I managed to get a few more Shades finished (I'm waiting to do the bases last on all of the army). I've been rather busy lately with the Thanksgiving holidays and taking care of the babies, but I did manage to get these guys done and I'm really close to finishing my Cold One Knights and the unit of Corsairs.

This was another major project I had going on during the holidays. A local Santa came to our house to take pictures with the kids since they still can't get out of the house just yet. (Premature babies born at 27 weeks don't have any immunities in their system. Babies don't starts receiving their mother's immunities until 30 weeks, so they are extremely vulnerable to infections, and with their small, fragile state, that could kill them. So we are waiting until after the Cold and Flu season is over in March to get them out of the house and take them places. Their bodies will have had a chance to start developing an immune system by then and the risk of infection will be much less likely. They should be caught up to "normal" status by age two.) He had his suit cleaned and took many precautions before coming over, which was a great relief to us. We were grateful that we didn't have to miss having their pictures taken with Santa for their first Christmas.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

A Santa's job isn't easy...

Cool! Seems like you had a good time!
Btw do you already have a plan how to get the money for some many Christmas presents? ;)

Lol, well, that kinda fell in our lap too! A good friend of mine (one of my gaming group as well) wife works for a large accounting firm here in Birmingham, AL. Each year they give out toys to kids in special circumstances. They take submissions from all their employees and she submitted our names (without us knowing). Turns out, our kids were selected among the group. Each kid is receiving $200 ($800 total) worth of toys and our friend was selected to purchase them for us, so we gave them a list, and they have ordered them! God is good! We were going to simply skip (for the most part) this Christmas, but God provided them with presents! :D

Aww! Well the Santa pics are adodable! So happy christmas worked out for you!

Haha, those Santa pics are great and the Santa really looks the part! Merril looks like an old man already in that one picture :shamefullyembarrased:

@Chicken Lips

Looks like good fortune as shone on you, lovely family and great news about your kids getting better each day, just wait until they are walking, you my friend will be one tired dad but you will love every minute.

Oh, my goodness, yes! People keep sending me videos of other dads of quads trying to keep up with them. Lol, jerks.

I (mostly) finished my Cold One Knights. I still need to do a little freehand work on the banner and do the bases (I'm going to finish all my painting first and then go back and do all of the bases at the same time). Anyway, here they are:

See now I wish I kept my DE army :(

Good stuff as usual, ideas for the bases?
