i think the saurus is very cool, though the GS work looks a bit rough. but then again, practice makes perfect ;)

Thanks. I know it's rough, it's not finished yet. Modeling with greenstuff is my weakest point imo, so I want to try and push my boundaries as much as possible so I can get better :)

Thanks! No that doesn't happen, since it is at the back of the unit and usually the first removed when 4+ casualties occur it is barely noticed. Almost a shame for a model that took so long to paint. :P

Haha ok, I bet it look nice in the unit though.

I know, my fingers are itching, as said before though I'm working a lot these day. We have a big delivery in early december at our company and I'm working overtime every day (and some weekends) until then. I have no energy left when I come hope to paint.

Oh and thanks that you think it looks cool ^^

Re: Children of the jade city - totzros paintlog

My very own steg is finally finished as seen in the competition thread. But I figured it would be nice to show it here as well. I am quite proud of it.

With that one off my table, my next project is to finish a 500 pts army. And I'll start with a block of saurus warriors. They have been glued together and is now ready for some paint.

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

Thank you all for your nice comments :D

I'm back from christmas celebrations at my parents and is now ready to start of the new year with some great lizardmen painting ^^

I picked up some old models from a friend when I visited my home town. Here is what I got hold of:

Does anyone has any good tips for how to strip paint from plastic and metal models?

I also went to that great vintage store here in stockholm and found som old WD's with focus on lizardmen. Picked up some jungleplants as well, the new 'eavy metal book and the rulebook.

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

All that stuff looks great, very retro!

About that saurus unitfiller.... PAINT 'N POST please ;)

(Very nice steg btw)

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

Thanks! The saurus is ready to get primed, I'll see if I can do it this afternoon. Although it's raining outside :/

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

for stripping, i use 99,7% ethanol. it will not damage plastic or metal. however, i work at a lab, and therefore have ready access to pure alcohol, and i know most ppl dont.

for metal models, acetone works just fine, and it is cheap at COOP or a similar store. do NOT use it for plastic though, cause the plastic will be damaged.

i hear break-fluid works as well, though i have never tried. the americans will swear by simple green, but we dont have that in sweden afaik. i hear it should work with any ammonia-based cleaning product, but i cant promise, cause i have never tried.

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

I actually tried acetone last night (my girlfirends nail polish removal) and it worked wonders. The paint came right of after a 1 hour bath. The test plastic ork arm melted though and became a mutie...

Pure alcohol can be quite hard to come by. I've heard that "Bromsvätska" and "T-Röd" should work good as well, but at least bromsvätskan is very hazardous and I don't want to use it.

It's hopeless that almost all online help on the matter doesn't help at all because they use products that aren't available to us swedes.

I put a test plastic model in a bath of "Galltvål" last night, I gonna see this evening if it works. I also read somewhere that "Grumme Grönsåpa" could work.

Ps. Funny thing that is seem to be some swedish people on the forum

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

Ive found Dettol to be pretty decent to strip plastic models. You will have to brush the paint off though.

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros paintlog

bromsvätska is glycol based. you shouldnt drink it but it isnt very dangerous tbh. acetone is probably worse.

galltvål and såpa are probably not going to work im afraid.

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros pain

Hi I know it's been ages since I painted or posted anything. Painting has gotten slow this year so far. On a positive note, I've played my fair share of games with my lizzies and glued together (and cleaned) lots of my stuff.

The reason that I post is that I want to share what I made last evening. Two pieces of wood terrain for my gaming group. Now very lustrian I know, but still something. Hopefully I will make some lustrian themed terrain in the future.

Cheers!

Re: Children of the lost jade city Qukai'Huan - totzros pain

Good job - reminds me of all the pin-trees here in scandinavia ;)

What is the greenish circle on the base of the tree?

Next on the totzro paint show: SW UNITFILLER! :D
