While making a new list today I stuck 9 coc in with some stuff and it came to 345 now i got to thinking thats alot of points for a small unit. So after playing around i worked out i could take 20 temple guard with the same banner for 1 point less. Now obviously im losing speed and fear but what i gain is numbers and always hitting at strength 5. Also armour saves are worse but most armies run things that negate armour anyway.

Trying this out tomorrow got 2 units of TG one is for the slann.

Because all cavalry have taken a hit iwth 8th edition, almost anything is better than CoC. TG are much better than CoC. In order for CoC to be effective, you should field at least 10 and throw a mounted scar-vet or two in there as well. In order to break ranks, you need 2 ranks (10). This means you need a buffer against any wounds you may suffer on the trip across the table.
