Greetings, Guardians of the Sacred Spawnings,

Like many of the Slann over here, I have spent years wandering the jungles of the 6th Edition. To me, this was the era where the Lizardmen truly felt like an ancient, multifaceted power: from the magic-heavy dominance of the Slann (Second Generation hell yeah!) to the "Cloud of Skinks" guerrilla tactics.

But let’s be honest: the current "state of the art" for playing 6th Edition in 2026 is disappointing. I was tired of relying on Windows-exclusive legacy programs from 2012 that barely run anymore, or fighting with deprecated data files that are full of errors. For years, I just carried an iPad with a massive "consolidated" PDF, but manual army list building at the table is a nightmare. The rules are scattered like temple ruins: half in the Army Book, half in Lustria, and the rest hidden in legacy GW website articles or obscure White Dwarfs.

I wanted a modern, browser-based solution that actually worked. So, I spent the last few months consolidating these fragments into a unified digital engine for New Recruit. And yes, it works on phones as well.

What I’ve managed to restore so far:
  • The Full 2003 Core: All units, Special Characters, and the Southlands list.
  • The Sacred Hosts (WD#300 UK): This was a big one for me. Full integration of the God-specific hosts (Sotek, Quetzl, Tlazcotl, etc.), including the logic that allows Skinks to take Sacred Spawnings as Core.
  • The Red Host of Tehenhauin: The fanatical list from the Lustria campaign.
  • The Southlands Army List: For those who prefer the skirmish-heavy Skink and Horned One rosters.
  • Web-Exclusive Legends: Restored profiles for Nakai the Wanderer, Ten-zlati, and Xltep.
  • Legendary characters from old White-Dwarfs: Lord Mazdamundi and Ten-Zlati.
  • Army of Kroq-Gar: When Kroq-Gar is selected, the engine changes the composition of the army (and Saurus Cavalry become core )
  • Errata, FAQs and interpretations: 6th Edition errata and the FAQ and interpretations of the Direwolf Council, the GLWL and the Norn Consensus.
Call to the Elders:
I am sharing this work as an Active Restoration. The "Rules Engine" is operational, but I am still mapping the 2026 Seraphon (AoS) miniature range to our classic 6th Edition profiles and 25mm/40mm square basing requirements.

If you find a mechanical error in the New Recruit repo or know of an obscure 6th Ed Lizardmen character I’ve missed (I am currently looking for the Coatl and Lost Valley specific variants), please contribute your knowledge here.

Access the Archive:
I’ve put together a configuration guide, bibliography, and miniature guides (WIP) can be found on my project page.

New Recruit Repository: lexicanum-imperialis/Warhammer-Fantasy-Battles-6th-Definitive-edition

I hope this helps some of you get your cold-blooded hosts back on the table without the technical headache. The Great Plan continues.

For the Old Ones!
