I have seen several battle reports and a lot of people are counting their units as stedfast even it the unit has only 5 infantry models left=1 rank ( or 3 miniatures for monstruos infantry).

This is confusing to me because the rules acording to the book say that you are consider stedfast if your unit has more ranks than your opponents unit as calculated for conbat reaolution, and the thing is that when calculating ranks for combat resulution you only consider ranks after the first one therefore if for example your stegadon is figthing a line of 3 ogres ( or 5 orks) the ogres ( or the orks) should not be stedfast since they only have one rank and ranks for combat ress and stedfast are only consider after the first one.

Could somebody please explain this to me?

Monsters don't have any ranks. :shifty:

The front rank for a unit capable of having ranks also counts toward steadfast even if it does not count for the combat ranks bonus. If you read the italics example for steadfast on page 55, the method for counting ranks is well outlined.

Hahahha I know that is why I chose a monster to make sure it was clear that I was talking about counting ranks in the ogre (ork) unit.... Hahahha probably not the best example :d
