This is my cold one rider .Was mostly a test for colour scheme and to see what i liked. Most likely to be used as a scar vet or old blood on co becasue i dont plan on using too much coc. If you have any ideas on how to make him more heroic looking than a standard warrior i would appreciate it . 20180616_110912_Film4.jpg 20180616_110856_Film4.jpg
Here is my bastiladon
20180616_111046_Film4.jpg 20180616_111050_Film4.jpg and lastly i have some skinks .

I would also like to note that i am much more of a player than a painter so i am trying to find a balance between looking good and speed. Anyways. C and C are much welcomed and appreciated .
Thanks!
Timm

An example. I have seen very well painted scales on a bastiladon and im wondering how people go about making the edges looks so good .Also if you have a suggestion to how i would get the cracks between the scales to look better i woyld appreciate that as well.
Cheers timm

As for the crevices, just put some shade in there.
If you want to make the scales stand out a bit more, try picking a color that is a bit lighter than the base color but roughly the same tone.
Use it to paint a thin line along the edge of the scales.
That technique is called "edge highlighting". Use thin colors for it.

If you are not precise enough for good edge highlighting (like me) or lack the patience, then try "drybrushing":

You don't need to buy special layer paints or dry paints. They make it a bit easier but you can use almost any color.

Hi everyone, its been quite some time since I added to this thread. I have had some time to work on the hobby recently and I made a hunter for my ogre kingdoms army. I though i would post it here to share with everyone even though its not lizards.

I am not a great painter but I'm pretty happy with how this guy turned out.
My biggest question would be do you guys like the hat? And if so, do you think I should go for a more straight brown on it. I tried to make it look tattered and that was the best I could come up with. Let me know!

First off, great on starting the blog @Cptn Timmy!!!

I think all the models are great starts. I think the Skinks are particularly good and the Ogre conversion is brilliant!

Yoooo, check out what I got my hands on yesterday. Always loved this model and never thought I'd find one so I am pumped. Unfortunately it has a gross round base on it but it looks so good I will have trouble replacing it.for the record i did not paint this. Screenshot_20210528-070104_Motion photo viewer.jpg

Very nice, that's a interesting (if round) base... looks like alien skulls under it.
