As for medieval weaponry, Pavise shield and crossbow all the way - as for my CP list, yes, I intend to keep the 3 carnos and astrolith together, I'll have a minimum of 3 commandpoints at turn one, and am planning to go with a Trn3/Trn4 Dino Waagh, depending on how the game goes (sinking between 6 and 12 CP into them) (1cp = 6 bonus attacks, 12cp = 72 bonus attacks) they are both a scary distraction, and a strong attack force. If the enemy focusses too little on the dinos, they'll get trampled, whereas if they focus on them too heavily, I'll dump ALL my CP in (including what I recycle from any 5+) as a last ditch strike and then reveal that while they were busy fighting dinos, I've placed an incomprehensible amount of skinks on capture points... It IS a gimmicky list - it may not be the epic #1 tournament crushing list - but it's also one of my favourites as it uses CP and summoning, hard hits and big models that I like (I think EotG looks silly and the rules are a little too long and too RNG for me - especially since I can't roll higher than a 2, ever.) and it has offensive capability, which is a first for me since in games I'm always the tanky healer person that doesn't want anyone to die but also has no offensive capability.
the problem being that almost every army can one shot 3 carnasaurs. heck my cities army can 1 shot 5 of them with a single unit. you have to strike first with this list or your down to at best 1 carno. and your board control starts out so weak that you could just be zoned off of objectives entirely since your guard cant shift stuf and the carnos can only be in one spot at a time
Sounds like "Seraphon weak, play other" How the hell do you 1shot 3 carnosaurs (granted that we're not counting cities for balancing reasons)
Keeper of Secrets, big unit of Mortek guard, maw krusha, most modern monsters carnosaurs used to be good and they can be useful, but you have to be clever with them
15 ard bois 40 plague monks jasails warp cannons 12 eels 30 witch elves anything in tzeentch KO drop and shoot 1 murder horn I can go on. I'm not saying don't play seraphon We Have Some solid strengths you just have to know that we also have some really potent weaknesses especially carnosaurs you found a way to make them do okay damage so just be careful with it hit first be sure you kill the right things and then protect them with skinks and remember we are not a combat army we are board control our best damage is most combat armies base line
Okay, so... protect them with skinks, yeah that was kind of the plan... and then move skinks aside and rush the carnosaurs into whatever the enemy has there. For as far as our strengths go - it's very often a list of as many of <single unit> as possible, and usually ranged attacks. stat-wise though, I don't think we really have offensive capability, no... -which is why i'm hoping the carnosaurs with commandpoints can wipe whatever damaging thing the opponent brings in. if this list keeps losing I guess I'll go play daughters of khaine instead because I want to at least have a chance at winning casual matches without using some premade tournament list or relying too heavily on summonspam...
Enlighten me, I’ve never heard of a Nodachi so how does it function? edit: fixing curse of the auto correct
It is the Japanese equivalent of a Greatsword while a Katana is a Japanese Longsword. Basically it is just big and strictly two-handed while a Katana can be used either one- or two-handed.
a nodachi doesn't have a honed cutting edge, and was used more so by cavalry. effectively the victim of the attack was violently "folded" over the sword instead of cut, resulting in fatal, extensive, internal trauma. it is more likely a Dai-Katana.
Guys this thread got put on the seraphon page for 1d4chan! They have a subsection dedicated to our lists
Any suggestions for a 1k list using the SC box? Made scar vet on Cold one and Sunblood using the nifty guide on here.
at the moment the best you can do is a block of 40 warriors buffed with multiple command points and a astrolith
Try this you would need a Slann but the razordons and scar veteran can be converted from extra cold ones Allegiance: Seraphon Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Great Rememberer - Artefact: Incandescent Rectrices - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (100) - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Battleline 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances Units 3 x Razordons (120) Battalions Firelance Starhost (150) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Chronomantic Cogs (80) Total: 990 / 1000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 53
Yep. One of the easier conversions It's just needs a bit of green stuff and something sharp and pointy like toothpicks.
As @Erta Wanderer said, super easy conversion. Just make some points with green stuff and it looks similar enough, plus it frees up the knights to go on drakespawn
