He take a dimensional cascade! That is why cupped hands is so brutal,
I got rid of a level 4 Helf on beasts with book of Hoeth at a tournament last weekend after he had transformed into a mountain chimera exactly that way! Right down the hole

The wording on Cupped hands states that you roll on the miscast table first, then use cupped hands to transfer the result of the miscast to the other guy.
